    I’ll admit I’m old but...

I’ve recently breached my 60th birthday which places me in the “old gits” club good a proper, it’s also explains, to a small degree, my intolerance to self inflicted “hacked” posts. Couple this with my level of sarcasm reaching “expert lvl” I find myself on the verge of a third rudeness infringement (This might be it I guess).

However, even though I’m fairly new to the forum as a member, I’ve been a regular visitor during the three, maybe four, years (sign of old age) I’ve been playing CoC. During this time I’ve witnessed the global chat being taken over by immature juveniles to a point that it rendered useless now. Sadly, this level of intellectual conversation seems to be infecting the forum too and any possibility of engaging a thread with a touch of banter is frowned upon. Has everyone become so pc that we can’t suggest someone’s own stupidity has been the cause of their issue.

Heyho, see you in five days I guess... or not at all

Time your global experience so you are not sharing it with the Bro-Zone. You're global experience will be ever so slightly better.

I’ve no problem with people suggesting the stupidity regarding ‘hacked’ threads may be the OP (and the scammer’s!) fault, however I do become intolerant when someone’s the tenth person to say exactly that.

The biggest problem is that everyone here needs to be treated equally, and we have both kids and adults here. So the mods have a tough choice, do they treat kids as adults or adults as kids? It’s the lesser of two evils but the latter is the only approach that works.

Additional - to prove my point, how would you feel if the first 10 responses to your thread were ‘wrong sub forum’....?

Sorry Old School, PC Nation is here to stay I'm afraid. I've been a victim of it and had to retype many of times what I wanted to say to PC what I want to say. I hate it.

If you talked to me in real life, PC nation would run away because I'm fouled mouth, hard core joke cracking. I can't be myself to a degree here.

If you are 60 then that makes you the same age as my parents. Lol, imagine if your parents/ my grandparents tried to talk on here. My grandparents wouldn't have lasted 3 to 50 post depending on how fast the mod crew is. Definitely different times we live in.

Happy bday Old School, my advice is read it before entering it. If it would make a cartoon fluffy big eyed bunny cry, then it won't work here. Its helped me survive this long. Good luck.

Edit: to add on the stupidity part, there is a difference between stupidity and ignorance. While I don't know which one is in play here, ignorance being called stupidity can be harsh. If they are ignorant to the problem, educate them properly. If they are aware of the situation and ignore the consequences, that just stupidity and in my old school ways, deserves to be called stupid. However, thanks to pc, its not allowed because feelings might be hurt. That's just head shaking to me.

Thank you for your post as another "old dog". Part of the issue, and you can see it in global chats/forums across many global platforms, is not the issue of being politically correct (PC) as much as the the manner in which people choose to highlight others silliness/stupidity; often you will see the most denigrating comments being delivered. At times it can be very nasty.

While some PC does enter into it I believe we are losing/have lost the written communication capacity to deliver constructive criticism and analysis (e.g. use of words snowflake/this sucks) without it turning into a blatant attempt to demean others.

I agree with a lot that’s posted here. As an 80s child who often uses dark humour or sarcasm in my posts, you can stay here and do just that. I’ve been here 5 years and *never been banned although sometimes my posts are deemed an orange shade of frowny. I’m not sure if we could create a closed group that’s perhaps a bit more risqué, but I guess that someone could still report our posts and we’d be infracted.

    *long story

sadly I agree OP, thus the reason I stay away from global all together, the immaturity level is beyond what I can personally tolerate. I find as far as the forum is concerned, I glance thru the posts and find one or two that I see that are ones I can comment on. There are a lot of great people here, very well versed in both language and knowledge of the game. There are also a lot of people who, like myself, are like minded and sharp of wit, (although sometimes my mind drifts), it’s just a matter of finding them. The pc world is amongst us, and it is my belief that someday they too will understand that you just can’t please all the people all the time, so be yourself and if others can’t accept you for who you are, well that’s really their problem isn’t it?
