i suggest you give to obstacles of ROCK which can be removed by gold.
this ROCK OBSTACLES should be available in every townhall periodically like trees by elixer

I agree OP rocks should spawn same as trees.

Who says they have to grow in order to spawn? Rocks come from the earth naturally the same as trees do, they can be pushed up by frost or appear due to soil erosion, volcanic eruption, earthquakes, etc., so to say they can't appear out of nowhere, is well, just silly.

I also think that 8 hours is a rather quick for a tree or bush to fully grow.

Oooh, maybe if someone attacks your village and uses an Earthquake spell, then it triggers a rock to spawn.

I don't have any problem woth haveing rock obstacles but I am fine with what we have atm.Better focus on something that really needs attention.
