Brainstorm: Feeder Clans: Worth the effort?

    Hey Guys

    We are a clan (Lev 14) of 50 really active people (45 mains + 5 minis), around 25 th11s, 10 th10s, 13 th9s and 2 th8s. We also have access to 4 other clans (1 lev 10, 3 lev 7), all of them lying dead right now.

There are 2 parts to my query:

    1. What would be the benefits of building a feeder? Is it worth the pain?

    2. What are some of the best ways to build a feeder?

More info on the clan: #2VLUYCQV * Mental Martyrs * Lev 14 International War Clan *

    All views are welcome.

Yes, I think feeder clans are worth it. However, as in all things, it all comes down to execution. An effective feeder clan will need to test out new players, monitor their progress, evaluate who should move onto the main clan, and then pass them on. Those tasks are on top of the normal tasks all clan leaders face, although it'll probably require more hand-holding and instructions than in a main clan. I've met players who are able to manage multiple clans with different needs/requirements, but it's a lot of work and I, personally, wouldn't want to do it alone.

Getting the right person to run the clan can be a challenge. You need someone who knows how your clan runs, who knows what you're looking for in players, who is very active to answer questions from new players, and who is willing to lose a lot of wars and pass the only decent players on. The ideal situation would be if you had a trusted coleader in your main clan who is excited by the prospect of running a feeder clan, and who can use a second account to stand in as leader.

This is exactly what we have in our feeder clan and it works well.

having a feeder clan that isn't terribly named as a feeder helps too. feeder clan sounds... rough...

The other benefit to a feeder is to make war more manageable. You can move people back and forth to run different setups. Maybe all th11 in main and mixed in feeder.

I was also part of a 2 clan group where main was very serious about wars. Managed weights and roster. The sister clan was less serious. You could war with a hero down. Still won 75-80%. We also tried out new players in the sister.

Maybe talking about us? Miss you in wars

We have a feeder we got up to level 10 and we use the main clan to run the most beneficial lineups we can, while in the feeder we run heavier wars where member can opt in or out as they choose.

For us it is VERY beneficial to have a feeder clan because we can balance both clans and swap out members between the two so that neither clan suffers.

A feeder clan is stronger than a clan on its own because it's being actively helped by another clan. A feeder clan with the right leadership could also surpass the main clan.

Having a feeder is a tough job and when done correctly it pays of well.
