There are a lot of posts in here saying it helped the community with ‘mini-modding’. When the reputation system was first introduced, I made sure to add something along the lines of “Negative reputation is not a substitute for reporting” in the thread.

As I’ve mentioned several times across the forum since this announcement, we didn’t just decide we will be lazy.

Time consumption was certainly not the deciding factor in this decision.

As for there here not being enough moderators. The reported posts don’t usually sit untouched more than a few hours. And the Game Specialists have other means of contacting us outside the forum if it’s something urgent. You are right about the closing of the CR forums, we do have more time to focus on the other games. I know I certainly do spend more time on the CoC forum now. We actually have really good coverage right now, the best since I became a mod.

Thats not not to say we aren’t looking for mods though
Can you comment about the idea of having the downvote brought back, but without the ability to add comments?

I was deliberately vague so as to not clue people in on how to be dodgy :P

But they can’t be dodgy now the neg rep has gone.

I’m not opposed to it as such. But I don’t see the benefit of it if you can’t tell people why?
We will also get large influx of members reporting unfair rep votes.

And without a comment, it means we have to chase the voter up and find out why.

I also haven’t had a look in the settings to see if that’s something VB4 allows. But worth at least looking in to.

Meh.... can you understand why there’s a fair bit of resistance especially when we don’t know the full reasons why?

And if you’re looking at getting new mods, can the forumers vote which old ones leave....?

I don’t think the lack of benefit matters much since the ability to down vote without a comment is better than no down votes at all, but moderators figuring out why the post was down voted is a good point I hadn’t thought of. Usually, you should be able to just read a post and see if it deserved a down vote, but there might be times where the person, if they had the option to leave a comment, would describe it as “this post combined with the three others earlier in this thread” etc. In the end, I do think no comments on up or down votes is a good alternative to getting rid of down votes completely. I think they do a small part to help keep the forums less toxic. If it is causing a lot of extra work behind the scenes, though, we all understand and I hope none of the moderators think we don’t appreciate it when we are speaking in favor of the down vote remaining.

Contact SC here. Click here for how trophies are calculated. An idea to improve legends here. I wish max players had a separate loot bank as described here. Caution, I often discuss for the sake of discussion and enjoy having my opinion challenged (or approved of) even when I care little about the actual issue. My balance wish: get rid of tornado trap, make it a decoration.

Well I didn’t expect for everyone pop a cork when I announced this

If you’re voting out Smolson, I’m on board.

Perhaps we can vote for which moderators leave. And then you overrule us....

Stop being so mean to us!!

I will will take the idea to the team and we can discuss, but first we need to find out if it’s even technically possible.
