You do not have to be very technical to secure your device and as an extension your SCID. The encryption example is simply one of the many things that you can do. A few non-technical things you can do are:

    1. Do not leave your device unlocked and unattended.
    2. Do not share your device and\or password with anyone else.
    3. Do not violate the ToS.

Encryption, device wipe, etc. are additional things you can do to better secure your device. Now that you know these terms a simple Google search would lead you to how you can better protect your device.

Soooo according to your hypothetical scenario here, the brother turns into a friend whose phone you can no longer access or ask him to just click the ‘x’ on his device so you can play on yours again?

    Some brotherfriend eh?

I shouldn't have to tell my 8 year old nephew he can play on my phone because supercell might ban me. My other nephew sometimes asks me to help him with his attacks because he is still learning, but if I touch his screen while he is playing, he is violating the tos.
It would be nice to see some local/national laws about this. It would be nice to have some laws protecting me from being banned because I let my nephew play with my phone. Just seems abusive.
Or even if Google/Apple stepped up and added it to their tos for devs to not allow this practice.

    Hyperbolic example is hyperbolic.

    1) They can't prove anything about what you and your nephew are doing, nor are you producing any evidence.

    2) You and your nephew aren't what the rule is supposed to prevent, and I feel like you know that.

Well given that nobody under the age of 13 is allowed to play anyhow, you certainly should be telling him not to play on your phone.

But Supercell certainly wouldn't ban you because he did.

    Is he?

    Why do you believe that?

It would be nice to see some local/national laws about this.
No it wouldn't. It would be vile and counter-productive.

It would destroy the online gaming industry if conpanies could not ban people for breaking the ToS.

Or even if Google/Apple stepped up and added it to their tos for devs to not allow this practice.
You expect them to "step up" and stop people from having similar ToS to them? No chance.

And no chance it would stand up under contract law if they did.

If account sharing is so bad how come none of the top players are being banned?

I don’t think it is so easy for SC to prove account sharing in order to ban players doing it, but I do think SC could make a 14-16 hour per day search limit to reduce the advantage account sharing players have.

Contact SC here. Click here for how trophies are calculated. An idea to improve legends here. I wish max players had a separate loot bank as described here. Caution, I often discuss for the sake of discussion and enjoy having my opinion challenged (or approved of) even when I care little about the actual issue. My balance wish: get rid of tornado trap, make it a decoration.

The terms of service states that 8yo can't have an account, not that they can't play.
Also, if I am playing on my nephew's account (who is old enough to play) he is not "securing his account" and therefore in violation.

There are many consumer protection laws, and banning people because they let their brother play their game (which has been demonstrated to be against the tos) should be against the law.
If SC added a clause to the tos where you must give them your first born child, that would be abusive and against the law. I am not advocating that they shouldn't be able to ban people, I am advocating that they shouldn't be able to ban people for letting their little brother play. Abusive tos should be against the law.
