    Derby matching

Hi. I'm trying to find out how the matchmaking process works.
I was given the understanding that equal sized hoods with the same number of competitors match. And that hoods that only do 320 + match up against similar hoods. My NH has been on a losing streak, for several weeks now, and I believe its because of doing only 320+ tasks.

Derby matching is based only only on the number of people opted in.

my hood too has been faced with more teams doing 320 only of late, something we only saw as a group with 5 opted in.

This last derby with 7 opted in, we saw the top three finish all perfect well before the derby ended. This is all new to us (I have seen it in other hoods with fewer opted in with my second farm)

it would appear that more and more teams are trying to max points first to win. I hope to get more in my hood to do derby to see if it is better with more in

if you don’t do it already, you may want to try a delayed start. Even a few hours can get you an easier matchup (I can’t get through to our most avid derbyist to do it in my hood, but I have done many delayed start experiments in other hoods)

I'm dealing with a bunch of really nice knuckleheads. They refuse to make any adjustments.

so it’s time to ask yourself what you want from the derby and your hood. If your team are great people and you love playing with them, does that outweigh your frustration at the derby performance? If it doesn’t it may be time to graduate to a more competitive hood.
