The Builder Base Collectors run full every 12 hours, the clock tower needs to be started every 7 hours and you need to attack for bonuses every 22 hours.. It takes 6 seconds to switch to the builder base and collect loot or start the Clock Tower, not really a lot of effort in the grand scheme of things..
Also, collecting all the resources possible will let you stay competitive and the Builder Base becomes a lot more enjoyable that way.

I only take the gems when it’s 15+ gems, to reduce the inefficiency.
But i think i missed once and made it to 18/18 (lv.7 gem mine).
It’s better to let the gems pile up so you lose less brewing time.
Everytime you take the gems, the counter reset to 0.
For example, at 3 gems per day, you’ll get 1 gem every 8 hours. If you take the gems at the 7th hour, you’ll lose 7 hours of that brewing time.

At lv.8 you can get to 20/20, with 4.3 gems per day.. not bad..

I had collected 4 gems once. Generally 2 everytime. Btw I have max gem mine 😌
