Has anyone reached Master/Champion leagues without using gems?

It is impossible to get to masters without using gems. Remember the tutorial? 250 gems for your 2nd builder, which everyone has gotten. It is possible without "gemming" though.

its really no problem to reach masters without gemming. Im th8 (almost maxed) and just broke 2350 cups.

any th9 that cant reach masters should stop and farm for a while... because its very, very doable on th9 (i guess th8 as well if you like sniping th´s all day)

Cant talk about champions league though, but i think its manageable without gemming, though i guess you really need a good upgraded th10 too get there

Just hit master yesterday. Cost me 92 gems.

Went from 1600 to 2200 with my farming army (barb, arch, giant and wb). No spells except an occasionnal lightning when 25-30 archers get out of the CC.

Went from 2200-2500 with maxed ballons/minions. Use 3 rages and one lightning so only did 2-3 attacks each evening

Monday, spent 20 gems for spell factory so I can have all my spells for my 4 attacks

tuesday, spent 32 gems to finish hogs level 5. Spent 20 gems for spell boost. Used 32 hogs, 20 archers, one drag and 10 minions. 3 heal and 1 lightning

yesterday, spent 20 gems for spell factory. Stopped attacking at 2600 T

Those 92 gems were gathered by cutting trees so I don't call this "gemming".

Playing 4 hours each evening, using 20 gems each day, I might get to champion one day. But I prefer to go there once I'm TH10. From 2300-2500, I won 46 T on defense. I'm sure with TH10, I would have gotten more than that.

I think the spell boost is mandatory to go up. Since you need 3-4 spells to win. Nobody can wait 2 hours online just to gain 5-10 trophies. It's just a waste of time.

And by the way, from 2400-2600 I only found one exposed TH. So for the TH7 wanting to go to champion, good luck. And I also found a TH7 in crystal 1. Nice 100% Thanks for helping us

I'm TH8 and reached 2659 trophies with no gems. I used 20 balloons and the rest minions. Takes a LOT of patience and activity.

first time was before the update with the league all-star(*so i did it again later)

the first time i hit masters, i used BAM till 2,800 after that i used just hogs and/or 8 hogs for take out an air defense, the rest drags/minions. i did this till i was at 3,100(i couldnt go any farther, only th8)

second time after the update i used Barch, till 2,700, then giants/healers/archers till 3,000( i was now a th9)
starting at 3,000 till i ended at 3,350 i hogs all the way, i needed 2-3 rage spells and a healing spell. i think i was maxed though cause i couldnt break 3,350 for a few days so i dropped down again :/

It is very possible, just a bit stupid to begrudge spending 20 gems here and there to significantly speed things up.

If waiting for spells, you will probably be waiting up to three hours, so you can squeeze three attacks in before being kicked off after 8 hours. Just two or three star those for up to 90 trophies and there is no way you can lose that many cups withthe force off.

Just keep doing that and you will hit Champion in time, though it seems very tightfisted and a bit of a pointless thing to do really (unless you genuinely can't afford to buy a few gems).

I got to masters with barch, I boosted the spell fac 2 times after I hit it, but you can do without
