Matchmaking, Looting, Farming NOW RUINED!!!!!!

Is it best to upgrade everything before upgrading the TH? I am at TH 7 and currently a few days away from TH8. Not much is fully upgraded....should I stop the TH and upgrade everything first? Or is it just a big jump to TH9?

Its a large jump from th7 to th8 and a huge one from th8 to th9.

I'd say you want to max at th7, that's what I'm doing.

I would go to Lv 8 and stay there. I was having a blast looting and farming, building my walls up etc... I wish I could go back.

Yes! TH 7 is great for farming, stay there and max your defenses it will benefit you immensely.

It's funny how the kids who cry the most know the least about this game. It's not SC's fault you didn't learn the game mechanics.. It is far easier to loot at lower town halls, and there is less incentive for higher levels to loot you.

Learn to play, or leave your collectors outside and quit.

Thanks guys for helping a noob I had no idea about the loot penalty until I joined th forum today. I though trophies was the only factor. Appreciate the advice.

Trophies are the only factor in matchmaking. Low trophies=weaker opponents (usually. we wont go into the exception as it doesnt concern you). After your opponent has been determined, loot is calculated in this manner: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...d-Elixir-Loots

Anyone who struggles getting loot with a TH8 has no idea what she/he is doing. But I still recommend you stay at TH7 simply because you can steal a lot more in less time than with a TH8. Plus once you get TH8 more TH9 players are going to attack you and if you have a weak village you'll be their daily bread.

I'm looting just fine at town hall 9. Once you adjust your strategy to farm bigger bases its great. I wish they would reduce the loot penalty a bit but I'm still doing well.
