First of all you are already crying about it, because you were shouting about it.
Second it wasn’t a mistake because it was never intended that a single war could give you full storages almost if you actually get the overflow. It was merely meant that everyone would feel like a winner and get some nice extra loot.
Third more then 50% of the people actually find that they do get 5x and for them it’s useful. all the rest get way more then double and have a full treasury.

You are correct, but that's not what Supercell said. Supercell said NOTHING and the lack of responses by SC when first questioned is disheartening and the reason so many threads have started on this. In fact of law, and a reason I filed a winning complaint against a car dealership with the Better Business Bureau based on a 20% off repair coupon, the event announcement says specifically 5X loot. There are no qualifiers "up to ..." at all.

This is classic Bait/Switch material. My CWL attack indicates i will receive 8,925,000 gold/8,925,000 pink elixir and 49,000 dark elixir for a winning attack on my opponent. Precedents set in previous gameplay indicate there are not “conditions” upon this. There were no conditions set in the events tab as indicated in my previous post of “up to X amount.” Finally, there is no announcement in the Forum tabs spelling out this event with limits.
Only the fact that this is “free” loot rather than purchased via real currency protects SC from a rash of lawsuits. Supercell has goofed on this, and their lack of official reponse through Darien doesnt help the feelings of the player community. IMHO the responses from the Moderators are poorly constructed to resolve the issue and all the sycophant Forum trolls who feel they can be judge/jury on other players feelings should just be quiet and let Supercell respond officially.
Interesting .. you talk alot about lawsuits and the legality behind SC's actions.. You also have to realise the Moderators are not employed by Supercell and are just players like us.
And i would also draw your attention to your reference "sycophant forum trolls".. for a person stating a lot of law you seem to have forgotten Defamation, Libel and Slander!
Your use of the word "Sycophant" is also interesting as it means "a person who acts obsequiously towards someone important in order to gain advantage"... Who is important?
Except precedent set in previous gameplay tell you that you cannot exceed your storages or treasuries limits unless it was paid for with real money.
Precedents also tell us that when our treasury happens to be full or not have enough space and the war screen shows a nice amount of war win bonus it doesn’t overflow and the loot is simple lost.
So that story isn’t exactly true now is it.

I have always supported the Moderators and feel they have a thankless role administering this forum for pretty much zero incentive - other than their enjoyment of the game/knowledge that this contributes to the overall game quality. My point was that SC has had their head in the sand when this could have been addressed quickly/Officially by SC Staff and an end put to it. For a thread like this to linger on for 36 pages is distracting and does not help the game play at all.
You answer your own point by including that definition. I believe there are a number of forum members who feel over important in their role as an active member with hundreds/thousands of posts and I believe they belittle newer members with few posts in the belief that SC could recognize their loyalty and elevate them to Content Creator/Game Specialist/Moderator status. I did not defame/libel/slander a single member of this community.

That is the incredibly interesting part of legal precedents, there are many different ones and the last word is typically the most recent. The advertisement of 5X loot, or as it says in my example above in bright green “War Win Bonus X10” could be interpreted as false advertising by inferring this was an achievable award. The courts in the US have typically held companies accountable in these instances.
Storages do not overflow.
So that 10k gold/elix and 55k de means nothing
Supercell can advertise 100x if they want, no overflow
