Having encouraged players to be thirsty for resources Supercell has created this event where the analogy could be walking across a desert then being greeted by someone with a full bottle of water and being told you can only drink half and the rest is poured away in front of your eyes. If you had only been given a bottle with half the amount you would have been very happy, seeing the other half being thrown away is what has encouraged everyone to complain on this forum.

You're in the desert and Supercell is giving you a bottle of water for you to collect rainwater. Then they let it rain 5x more than usual. Winners of clan wars will fill their bottles well before it stops raining, while losers of wars are unable to completely fill their bottles (but almost full!) before it stops raining.

SC never promised you that the loot would overflow your treasury cap. That rarely happens. It didn't happen the same time last year. When it does happen (rarely) it is usually connected to paying money for it. You didn't pay money for this. No one promised you the loot would go over your cap.

SC decided to initiate a special event, therefore, it stands to reason that the players ought to receive the full benefit of said special event.
This has nothing to do with anyone being or not being special. The event itself is a special event.

Players are receiving the full benefit of the event, which is to give 5 x loot up to the cap of the treasury. You just want the event to be something different than it is, which is a fine opinion to have.

Players "deserve" it because supercell offered it as a benefit for a certain achievement! Next time your employer offers to give you a bonus for a task and then only gives you half. Are you going to say you agree with the boss? Or are you going to say you "deserve" it?

Put bonus in treasury, and special offer bonus in storages! Problem solved!
Max players would still lose some. My dark storage usually full. But still have some walls so the other would be appreciated!

No, SC didn't offer what you claim. SC never said we'd get to overflow our cap. If my employer says you get to have 5 x your usual rate up to a max of X and I get X I will be getting exactly what I deserve.

EPIC FAIL BY SUPERCELL!!!! They mark the Anniversary by advertising 10X loot bonus, but it is ALL WASTED since NO TREASURY can hold it. Right now I am looking at a loot bonus for a round in clan war league that is OVER 10 million in gold and elixir and my maxed treasury can only hold 4.6! Hey Darian, YOU BLEW IT!

The point of the event seems to be forgetting basic math. They knew the size of the treasury at any TH level and picked a multiplier that they had to know would exceed that limit even if the treasury was completely empty.
This is, literally, spilled milk. Supercell poured out a gallon jug while the players were holding shot glasses. I'm not gonna cry over it, but I am going to point it out.
It's a mistake. It's not huge. but it IS a mistake. Recognize it and learn from it, and move on. And maybe you won't make the same mistake next time.
It's hard to get the big things right while you're still tripping over the small stuff.
