    That's what I thought, that goes clearly well beyond your little experience. It seems clear and sufficiently demonstrated to me but I understand that it is not so easy to perceive when you don't have the experience. Just for you I will try to be a bit more explanative : if you compare 2 accounts running 16 hours per day on 28 days (total 448 hours for each), which one will find more bases ? the one waiting 50 minutes for its 3 heroes to regenerate or the one gemming their regeneration time after every attack. You got it right ?
    And this is simply where the gems go. As I illustrated with my example before the highest score will be allocated to the one who has spent the most gem, across all the season duration (and yes, especially in the first half of it. Should I explain why in the 1st half of it...?). Well finally, you can bring on all the ideas you want (and I appreciate your effort on this), you will see that I am right, they will never do something about it.

    Actually no, I at least don’t get it. How does gemming hero time help at trophy levels when average cloud time is more than hero regen time?

    Yep. Makes total sense if the average time to find a base were under an hour. In fact, I talk about that in great length all over this thread, but that's not what it's like in upper legends. I know that. You know that. So I don't know why you're bring it up

    But I'm not going to continue to deal with your condescension. If you can provide empirical evidence or any sort of data showing that spending gems decreases the wait time, or in any way increases the number of attacks you can do at the top of legend league, I'll reply.

    Basically he is saying early in the season when matches take less than an hour the player who is willing to gem the army done gets to searching again faster. As the season goes on, the matches usually take more than an hour, but you still do get the odd one that comes quickly, so again the player willing to gem their next army done gets searching again faster. Late in the season, I almost never see a match in less than an hour.

    Personally, I think the 24 hours per day searching is a bigger factor.

    I agree with Ajax that those same players willing to spend gems in legends now would be willing to spend even more gems if the system was designed in a way to allow them to do so.

    I also agree with Chris that legends does still earn SC money, though, so it is hard for a company to be willing to turn away something already making money and take the chance that a new system might make more, but could also make less.

    Contact SC here. Click here for how trophies are calculated. An idea to improve legends here. I wish max players had a separate loot bank as described here. Caution, I often discuss for the sake of discussion and enjoy having my opinion challenged (or approved of) even when I care little about the actual issue. My balance wish: get rid of tornado trap, make it a decoration.

    That would have made the point more clear, rather than spending time trying to belittle everyone who replied to him.

    But it ultimately doesn't matter. Even if it costs $10000 to compete, the point of this thread is to discuss the leading ideas to change the system. We know it sucks, our goal is to make it better.

    One of, if not the best post on here - OP.

    I spent just one season in Legends because I couldn't bear the clouds. I get to play at night only and spending it waiting for a base wasn't my idea of fun.

    As for how you solve the problem, well your in depth post shows there are a plethora of possibilities - each with their own + & -... Personally I don't mind PVP but I can see why some wouldn't like that. I don't particularly care for the 1 attack, 1 defence solution as I would hate to as you say possibly get a 99% 2 star and have a net loss of cups to someone who an hour later hit me for a 51% 2 star.

    It will take a much brighter mind than mine to solve.

    Let me try to also complete the landscape. The money put in will not drive the number of targets received only... It will above all lead to the final rank on the leaderboard actually. Because SC regulates the cups number even more via defenses and number of cups offered at each target rather than the number of attacks themselves. The one paying the most will much more gently treated on defenses and will receive the higher cups numbers. Yes, when I say it is spoiled and unfair, it's because it is spoiled and unfair ! And trust me, matches on your defenses and number of cups distributed all over a full season is well under control by SC. You all knew it right ?

    And finally, I don't want to necro here, but you will see we speak again in a year from now and nothing will be done. Bets open !

    Back before destruction % was used as a tie-breaker in war, there was a lot of discussion about changing from a 3 star, to a 4 or even 5-star system. Obviously, a change like this wouldn’t completely fix the cloud issue, but could it help? My thoughts for a 5-star system always was: 1 star at 50%, 75% and 100% plus 2 stars for the TH. With this in place the trophies won/lost could change to:

    0 Stars – Attacker loses 100% of the trophies
    1 Star – Either 1) No trophies won or lost OR 2) Attacker loses X% of the trophies
    2 Stars – Attacker wins 25% of the trophies
    3 Stars – Attacker wins 50% of the trophies
    4 Stars – Attacker wins 75% of the trophies
    5 Stars – Attack wins 100% of the trophies

    In this set up, the 0 star fail and the 100% attack remain the same. Attacks that get 50-75% destruction but fail to get the TH benefit the Defender. Attacks that just get the TH with <50% destruction also benefit the Defender (25% vs 33% trophy loss). Like-wise 50-75% attacks that get the TH as well also benefit the Defender (50% vs 66% trophy loss). Only >75% attacks that also get the TH does the Attacker have the advantage (75% vs 66% Trophy gain).

    This would make defending a little more appealing. Base layouts would definitely come into play more to either protect the TH better or protect against 75%+ attacks. This would also benefit skilled attackers that reached the >75% destruction consistently.

    You seem to veer into crazyville a lot. 2222 explained quite well why gems would help early in the season. He didn't open the door for conspiracy theories. Except I'm pretty sure that supercell hid my keys this morning. So that I'd stay home from work and gem my armies. IT WON'T WORK SUPERCELL. I HAVE AN EXTRA SET.
