Hi everyone, our hood is seeking to recruit farmers with a passion for the derby!
Our background
- We are an established hood and have been around for ~4 years, even before the derby leagues were introduced.
- We have won a trophy for almost every derby so far and most are gold trophies! As of 4 Feb 2019, we have 158 championship league trophies: 113 gold, 40 silver and 5 bronze.
- We currently have ~14 active players at any given time. We are looking to recruit fresh faces to replace those who have become inactive over the years and aspire to grow the hood to 15 people.
What we can offer
- We are a friendly bunch of people from all corners of the world. Just to name some countries, we have farmers from the US, the UK, Australia, Malaysia, and South Africa.
- We have a solid team of derbiers, so you can rest assured of our consistent performance.
- We have people trashing our board round the clock, so there will almost always be a suitable task ready to be taken.
- We will promote you to elder status to enable you to trash tasks.
- We have an expert leadership team which can strategise effectively for each themed derby Hay Day challenges us with.
We are looking for a level 70+ player who… - Is preferably located in Europe or a country with a similar time zone (to balance our existing members who are mainly based in Australia or the US). If you're not based in the UK but think you would be a good fit, let me know. We may be able to work something out as we have quite a few spots to fill. We are also open to having a small group of people from an existing neighbourhood join our hood.
- Can be relied on to complete 9/10 derby tasks each week.
- Is reasonably self-sufficient and quick in completing their derby tasks (our average player finishes their tasks on day 4 or 5)
- Is an adult.
- Is able to converse in English.
- Is friendly and helpful.
- Will not cause friction in the hood in the event that things do not run smoothly, bearing in mind that there could be teething problems and we may run things a little differently from what you're used to.
- Is an FB user (and willing to join our private FB group which we use to communicate longer announcements).
Member etiquette and expectations
- Follow our derby strategy!
- Help others and be equally helpful in return.
- Take a balance of easy (like mining and help) and hard tasks to spread the load.
- Consider opting out if you are extra busy that week.
- If something crops up unexpectedly affecting your ability to complete your tasks that week, let us know early and we will help where we can.
- If you have been inactive for 1 month or more, you may have to relinquish your position to make room for active members. You are welcomed to return if you pull your weight.
Our derby strategy
- We take a minimum of 9 tasks. A 10th task is optional but appreciated. Most of us like to do a 10th task.
- We practise a delayed start to the derby. The delay is between 0-4 hours but I can’t reveal our trade secret here!
- We have a designated starter for each derby.
- For normal derbies, we do 9 320 tasks.
- For themed derbies, we generally do 9 320/400 tasks (depending on the theme).
- We trash unpopular, time-consuming tasks.
- Where applicable, we practise a delayed finish to lull our competitors into a false sense of security.
Would you like to join? Please private message me I will then ask you some follow up questions to get to know you better. If you are invited to our hood, you will be on a 2 week probation (with elder status granted) for us to assess your suitability. It's also a chance for you to see if you consider our hood to be a good fit for your needs. If you do decide to leave for whatever reason, we ask that you leave after the derby has finished out of courtesy for our derby standing.
Do you have any further questions? You can post below or private message me. I'll log in a few times a day to check for messages!
