Bah...I’m working on disproving that with a brand new account. I started it 3 days ago; I have it up to BH4 and 1200 trophies. It will be BH5 in a few days and I should hit 2K shortly thereafter. By month’s end, it will be BH8 and shortly thereafter, in the 4K range. The only $$ I am investing are in the level-up bonus packs.

According to the sub forum directory about match making a gasp mentioned "The matchmaker is simple. It pairs you up with an opponent with roughly as many trophies as you and who pressed "Attack!" at roughly the same time as you." Leaving my BH outside is an attempt to lower trophies to find similar level players. I'm finding it hard to believe that at 1500 cups the mm continues to pair me with +1 lvl about 80% of the time. I'm not competitive on that side so I'm just looking for a good match. So far I'm not impressed nor interested in upgrading past this mess.

You don't need your hall outside to drop trophies to find good matches. You were already winning or losing about 50% of your matches. Some players had more advanced bases, but less skill, while others had less advanced bases but more skill. Some players were pretty similar to you on both counts. That is what the Bh matching system does. You settle in at about 50% win rate.
Contact SC here. Click here for how trophies are calculated. An idea to improve legends here. I wish max players had a separate loot bank as described here. Caution, I often discuss for the sake of discussion and enjoy having my opinion challenged (or approved of) even when I care little about the actual issue. My balance wish: get rid of tornado trap, make it a decoration.
Well actually you’re wrong here. What it can show is that it’s perfectly possible to progress a low BH base when starting later, which I gather is part of the intention, along with exploring the experience of a hyper rush project from a new angle. The packs just shave some build days off for him, which is almost immediately negated by attacks won on that first day or two, taking him to a higher trophy point with bigger and harder opponents, and the lower your BH level the less impact a pack makes as so many you match are ahead as you rise in trophies. The place a pack truly makes an impact is when it’s a pack for a newly released BH level (immediate wholesale rearrangement of the landscape for all), not on going to a new BH level for you alone.

Well actually I'm not wrong, but thanks for sharing your opinion. It simply shows that with money and time anything is possible in bb, or at the least much easier, that's it. In no way shape or form does buying packs and hyper rushing through trophies reflect the average game play experience for the average bb player which is what this thread is about. I think everyone understands that the top 1% or whatever who spend large amounts of money/gems and have numerous accounts have a very different experience playing the game and that's hardly suprising.
It's basically akin to a social elite lecturing someone that is living in borderline poverty on how mistaken they are about life and how easy things really are and can be. I mean seriously common already it's embarrassing, just stop it.
I'm confused are you complaining because spending money gives you an advantage in the game?
ftr, I've got three baby accounts who all started in early November. i play them occasionally, all free. all three of them are bb5 around 2000 trophies. i encountered a bh8 today and actually beat him lol.
Or it could be akin to constantly posting how everything would be roses if it was designed according to dazin's world. I agree that noc's experience is different than the casual clashers. A newb won't have his knowledge. However, for the casual bh player, you do your three wins a day, rise to your natural place in trooohies as time goes on, and go on with life. You will run into oddballs like bh8s slumming in low levels but overall it evens out. Newb pushers will hit a wall and post a new matchmaking thread. And clash life goes on.
How does the game penalise your skill? Maybe you just think you are more skilled than you actually are.
The game rewards both skill and upgrades. The combination of those determines your max trophy level. If the game didn't reward upgrades, no one would upgrade. That's a completely different type of game which this is not designed to be.
