A confirmation button or having to double/triple click the existing one would be much appreciated. Fabulous game, to the developers, keep up the great work. Thank you.
Yes!

The aspect I find troubling about 'freemium' games is that, in certain cases, the interests of the players and the developers are opposed. For example, in order to make a larger profit, elements which exploit players' emotions and frustrations are employed, such as 'level/currency grinding', difficult-to-obtain items, and leaderboards.
While these features are commonly found in other types of games, a fundamental difference exists. There is no advantage to be gained by excessively frustrating players in a premium game. If anything, overly-frustrating gameplay will prevent individuals from purchasing the game, perhaps after they read negative reviews. Conversely, freemium games' profits are directly proportional to such frustration (and envy, impatience, etc.), at least until a point; it is advantageous to increase player frustration to the maximum level players will tolerate before quitting.
This observation is not meant to be an indictment of Hay Day or imply that I dislike the game. Instead, it seems germane to the accidental diamond spending issue, which provides another interesting example of conflicting interests.

I believe I've discovered a solution to this problem that the developers will find satisfactory. Simply put, the confirmation mechanism (button, double-tap, etc.) will work like Tom. Players will pay a number of diamonds for temporary protection against misspent diamonds. Players will thus receive the confirmation they requested while still spending their hard-earned diamonds anyway. (/sarcasm)

They could get around the confirmation box issue (if they wished to prevent mis-spending of diamonds - which I don't believe they do) by simply adding a 'lock' feature to player's diamonds. You can't spend diamonds when your stash is locked, one tap unlocks the diamonds - spend em on whatever you want - then another tap on the diamond icon to lock em back up safe and sound.
This seems to be a far more elegant solution to the problem than having to deal with a bunch of confirmation boxes. The folk who claim never to make mistakes can just leave their diamonds unlocked, while the less fortunate among us who play on teeny tiny iphone/ipod screens or have dexterity disaster fingerscan keep their diamonds safe until they want to spend them.

Say no to sugar/dairy boats!! Don't fill em, don't open any crates, just turn the water cannon on them and wait for the next one!
I vote yes. I spent my diamonds on accident too. They need a confirmation button
OMG, somehow Supercell has to figure out a way to add a confirmation to diamond usage. It happens over and over and over again. I have once again lost all my diamonds to this stupid flaw! There has to be a way. Geez!
Supercell staff maintains that adding a confirmation would be annoying. Let us grant that. However, there is a solution that can be employed without adding confirmation, and it is spatial: simply extend the blue progress bar so it is out of the field of immediate digit-play.
There is no evidence to support Supercell's claims. In fact the available evidence indicates they are quite wrong. Either way, the alternative solution I proposed on page 25 of this threads, renders those claims irrelevant.
