This may seem like a really odd reason to enjoy the global events, but I love the opportunity that I have to visit farms that show up in the "recent contributors" window in the global tab of the events board. I would never normally find these farms and it's fun to wander around them and take a look. I have often been able to help them with boat orders, trees and bushes to revive and the last one I visited gave me diamonds from their mystery box! What's not to love!
