Allow me to set the scene.

My 5 year old granddaughter who's home from kindergarten with a tummy bug asks while I'm doing laundry, "Granny, can I please play my piano game on your IPad?"

"Sure, baby, it's ok...just go sit down with it and be careful not to drop it."

Her little face lights up. "Thank you, Granny! I promise I'll be very careful!"

Laundry is done, more chores are attended, other kids come home from school, supper is prepared, hubby comes home from work, everyone eats, granddaughter is bathed and ready for bed, dishes are washed, Granny finally sits down.

"Where's my IPad? Ah, there it is..."

    Opens Hay Day....

Half of apple jam stock sold to the visitors....Cost...16 jars
Coin account looted with nothing to show for it....Cost...$25,000

"Bella, darling baby, WHAT did you do to Granny's farm?" ...."You were so busy today, Granny, I helped you out by doing your farming for you."

    PRICELESS!!!

You know what I really like about this story? The little one has completely different a thinking (and decision making) than an adult... Taking it to real life, it is true that you wouldnt stock incredible numbers of jams as you could always it make fresh... With the berries and trees which should be harvested before everything falls to the ground amd rottens. She made space, earned money for the family and allowed the plants to do what they are meant to do. Otherwise the capabilities of the plants would be wasted... Same thinking pattern about the diamonds, she is a clever little girl :-) will be doing very well once she is running her own household :-)

The only thing which is not ok is that she played your game without asking permission. But I am certain she wanted to surprise you with a perfectly run farm.

Something tells me that the 25k were spent along the learning curve, she might have deleted a deco item by accident and replaced it?

Awe thank you so much for sharing this story it truly is priceless!!! Thanks for the laughs.

If you don't know what to send Tom out for anymore you can always send him for shovels and mine for diamonds to get some of those back. It should be possible to get a lot of those diamonds back that way.

    Thank you TerMinus Prime

Same thinking here, so I've spent the morning doing inventory...counting gnome noses and clumps of caterpillars, moving every bush and building to see what might be hiding, trying to find what she spent the money on...didn't discover even a single worthless, unwanted topiary...

....then as I sat staring at the screen scratching my head and tapping my chin, I found the answer to the $25,000 question.

    ....THERE!!!...

....so blatantly and glaringly obvious all along!!!....

A once empty pen now full of naked, shivering sheep!!!

How on Earth did I not see those? They're right in front of the house for pity's sake!! Made me feel as blind as a bat and duller than dishwater to have overlooked them for HOURS!!!

I willing to swear right now that sheep were easier to see when they were invisible for Halloween!!!

<grumbling to self> Stupid sheep....time to get new glasses....stupid sheep!

LOL! My 5-year old did something similar when I first started playing and didn't know better than to not leave my iPad unattended with him. I came back and he had spent at least 100 diamonds (my first purchase of diamonds!) on such things as chicken eggs and wheat. I also ended up with about 50 barrels. Now he likes to drag out the ugly deco, like the wedding cake topiaries and heart topiaries. I let them sit out for a little while, then put them back in storage.

Ah bless her - they are so quick to work out what to do! I do have some games my nieces are allowed to play on the iPads but we have had some accidental purchasing of Kipper stories on our kindles though!
