We got 2 of the new fishes so far -- the Zander (green lure by fish s-h-a-c-k and the Lake Sturgeon (blue lure by sunken ship)

Ah, I still need the Carp...hopefully I will be able to catch him so that the "special" fish are complete. I don't care about the bronze/silver/gold medals.

I got a lake sturgeon today with a blue lure - I think it was in the reed area. I don't have many areas open so it was definitely either that or shallows.

When using a colored lure (not worms), pay attention to the circle that appears when the fish takes the bait underwater. The outer circle will shrink, but the inner circle will stay the same size. That inner circle can be one of several sizes, relative to the shadow of the fish underwater. The running theory is that certain types of fish generate certain sized circles. So if you are looking for a particular fish, and know what size circle to look for, you can hook the fish and either try to catch it or let it go if it's the wrong sized circle. Letting the fish off the hook before catching it does NOT consume your lure. This method allows you to try again and again to get the right sized circle to increase the odds of getting the kind of fish you really want instead of burning through lures catching the fish you've already collected.

These new fish seem to have pretty small circles so far.
