it seems like just yesterday I had the same decision, and my son who got me into the game advised to do fishing first. I think he was right. Before you know it you won't be worried too much about coins. Mining takes more components and patience so I would wait on that. Plus, now with the recent upgrade the lure and net maker in the fishing area permit mastery so you will benefit from getting started earlier on fishing once you expand to the other fishing spots (which I recall telling my son I would never want because expanding my farm alone seemed so daunting at that time).

    Good luck!

The mine takes shovels, tnt and dynamite to get the ore, and the bars take a huge amount of time to produce in the smelters. One of the upsides, is that the truck orders for metal bars give you vouchers. But it takes a long time to have enough bars for one order.
Thanks for your input...I've asked a few people now and while opinions do differ (hey, we all enjoy different hobbies!), the general consensus seems to be fishing!

I was fortunate enough to have earned enough coin to be able to split the difference!
Opened the mine and bought 1 smelter (smelter schmelter!)

Then I opened the fishing area and started the net repair thing...accidentally opened some random fishing area/zone, tried to hook a fish after watching the demo (and lost it! LOL), so I left and am now going directly to the "how to fish dept"!!!

Trouble with the both opening is storage for all those tools! (Prob been suggested before, but why oh why cant we have a tool shed?)

As far as catch-ups....well, I'll have to bow down to the almighty jam maker soon, now Ive levelled up (again! Boy that comes around quickly!)

Still have no pets - by choice really at this time, but Ill have to bite the bullet on that now too cos Ill need those vouchers for fishing they reckon!

Aside from that its all good. Cannot complain...Ive had a great fortnight game-wise and really, really enjoyed myself! Which is the whole point entirely isn't it?

I would really recommend saving your vouchers for pets. You don't have to use vouchers to fish. Vouchers are just used to catch different types of fish. When it all comes down to it, all you need is a fish fillet & you can get that either way with lures made with vouchers or by using the free red worm (I think it's called the red worm). They have a free lure you can use to fish with, no vouchers needed to make, the only downside is that it takes the longest to make (the red worm as I mentioned before). But heck that's pretty much all I fish with, I hardly ever use vouchers. I'm going to wait on using vouchers to fish with until after I get all or most of my pets.

But can you get every fish with the red lure?
Don’t know what to put here. It’s been so long.

No you can only 2 types. But then again, I depends on your own preferences. Would you like to catch different types of fish (you get diamonds when you catch new ones) or get pets so you can get experience points. It may seem like little experience points but the more pets you get & the more you wake them up then the more you get (you also can get LEMs, BEMs, & tools for waking them up). And you may or may not regret it later on when you level up since it'll take longer to increase level wise so all those experience points can eventually add up.

I would wait to carch the speciality fish until the next fishing challenge when you need to meet weight goals.

Congrats everyone on leveling up, new machines, new pets, tomoatoes, lots of coins.

i made it to work before the snow started (arrived at 640) and stayed until 5 pm and ot had stopped snowing at 3 and the roads were clear. Went to the market to get bread, etc. Now I am home and fed.

Won't be home tomorrow evening as the hubs and I are going to see Rod Stewart for our 7th wedding anniversary.
