ah but my dear friend, jam is an end product. Until you get the jellybean, Jams are done and ready to go to trucks, boats or for sale. Even when the jellybean comes around, it takes a day to produce so the candy machine can indeed run non stop.

The soy sauce issue is a lot more like the coffee kiosk, but as has been pointed out, worse in that three hours is a LOOOONG time. I would really like to know why we got five smelters? Don't get me wrong. i think it is a good number. But what was the thinking behind it that wasn't there with this new machine. Even with my five smelters going all the time, i can't always keep the jewelry machine going but that is mainly because of the randomness of the way the ore comes out of the mine and my own desire to keep my excess ore inside the mine. with some thought, I could fix that.

I can't fix this. There is no way I am going to get the mastery of the sushi machine or the salad bar any time soon. either soy sauce should take less time or sushi should take more time. (Ok you can all throw lettuce and tomatoes at me now.) I don't have the salad bar open yet, but it sounds like this is also a machine that might take some tweaking. Give them some time. After the mods and staff play with this for a while and after they look at what everyone is saying, things might change. So far the timing of most machines seems so very well thought out, i find it hard to believe that if this is as disruptive to the flow as it seems to be that it won't get a serious look see.

The human mind is fantastic at adjusting. We can get used to a lot of things, for instance my Coffee Shop sits idle 95 % of the time, and I don't really think about that anymore. That doesn't mean it isn't bad game design ...

The main problem is that the higher level players acquired all 3 machines at once, and will struggle to accumulate stockpiles for a while. Soon there will be an equilibrium and people will forget this angst.. But in the mean time, as was previously suggested, the lower level players can make and sell for our shortcomings, and save up for their next machines. .
So any soy sauce sellers wanting to befriend me....???

Powdermonkey, there's 1 item not dependent on the sauce machine. It's the Greek salad (3 lettuce, 1 roasted tomato, 2 feta cheese and 2 olives). I'm usually overstocked on feta cheese and used to fill all crates I could find needing them. Now I guess there'll be no more feta cheese crate filling and lots of Greek salad instead because that's what I'm making non-stop om thr salad bar so my sauce maker can crank out soy sauce.

I'll will have to spend this week pushing my 2nd account 8 levels up to get another sauce maker *sigh*

I have all machines in operation but not all products unlocked.

The salad bar is nicely balanced, olive oil and mayo are very quickly made and I already have enough stock of salads to fill a boat and from tomorrow onwards I will be able to help neighbbours. You can run the salad bar with either mayo or oil, with bacon or goat cheese, you can play around and let it run for hours non stop without getting into any trouble.

The sushi bar is hillarious. Not only that you cannot, under no circumstances use the machine without soy sauce, the balance has no relation with any other machine. I managed to make 2 soy sauces from which I could make one sushi, the other must be kept to fool the little people. I managed to buy one sushi of the other kind, so after one entire day I have the incredible amount of 2 sushis, although the sauce maker ran non-stop.

Sorry, my coffee kiosk is far more efficient, it can run with lots of different ingrediences, even if for 5 minites only.

Have opened 4 slots on the saucemaker, more doesnt make sense, that is 12 hours already. It wont be possible to produce more than 3-4 sushis max a day, if you want to serve the salad bar also. that makes 72 hours devided by 4 hours production = 3 weeks only to achieve the first star... How many months to master?

And the other way round, it will take at least one week until one can fill a sushi boat since I should produce both kinds. The higher levels will need longer because they need to be ready for all three kinds, meaning 10 days for their first sushi boat requiring four sushi of one kind.

The ones who like "challenges" will party now. I find that hyper boring.

I am level 56 and got the sauce and sushi makers. 3 boats asking for soy sauce [one a double] have been sent on and another due to go the same way. A lot of neighbours seem to be opening crates for these boats but no way can I help them and it will be a while before I have much accumulated. Soy sauce boats are alongside dairy/brown sugar ones! Bye!!
I can see the dairy needs even more juggling with so much goat's cheese needed for the salad bar too.

You seem really intelligent CEMFF. How will you cure your hyper boredom?

You've advanced in levels enough to have dealt with some in-game adversity of some kind and seemingly overcame it so what's your present plan regarding soy sauce and sushi?

Glad to hear the salad bar is more balanced. I might spend my time making salads, I don't like fish anyway. maybe I'll make soy sauce over night and be the new place to go to buy soy sauce. ;-)

As an example of the imbalance the long production time of soy sauce is causing, I have had to send away 2 boats in the last 2 days. Typically I send away only about 1 boat out of a hundred. One of the sent away boats had sushi (before I had any soy sauce, and it was for 4 crates) and the other had soy sauce (>24 hours total production time right after I got the machine unwrapped).

Also, at one point this afternoon, I had almost 20 friends with open boat crates. Normally this would make me overjoyed with so many crates to fill, but more than half of them were asking for soy sauce. Most of the rest were asking for the usual sugar and butter. For all of that I managed to give away 1 sushi, that's it. Anticlimactic, to put it mildly.

Like I said, soy sauce is the new syrup.
