    Stress!

Does anyone else find this game both stressful and addictive?

I started playing as a way to keep myself up in the night when my baby gets up to eat...(which is like 5 times a night) and quickly got addicted, to the point where I think I'm going to have to get an iPad to play on as my phone just feels tooooo small. LOL.

I wish I'd found and read the forums earlier as I feel my gameplay would have been much smoother. For instance I wouldn't have sold off all my land expansion materials thinking "Oh I don't need that room" only to realize I needed them in the fishing area!

How do you guys manage the stress of not having big enough barns to store all your expansion/building materials? Or manage stress?

I love this game too much to step away, so don't suggest that. LOL. I keep thinking "oh once I expand my silo/barn again I'll be good for a loooong while" but then BAM! It's FULL?!

I'm so excited to be able to see the Xmas decorations on other farms and am finally able to start helping with others' boats. This is such a fun game! Just wish there was a way to leave in game messages....

    Addicted daily player here.

I manage the stress of the game by, you guessed it, playing it more.

A timer (for how long we actually play for) would be nice addition. It could also be a challenge, say 24 / 50 / 100 hours for levels 1,2 and 3 achievements

Don't; stress mommy! You'll get eh hang of managing the barn soon enough

See the Turbo trucker thread for some how-tos to do the "Barn dance" and snuzzle the little one for me. I remember those sweet nursing days . . . but mine wanted to eat every 45 minutes

I really used to get wound up about this game, my productivity, if I was optimizing all my machines, etc. I love games of all kinds, and optimizing systems is something I always try to learn with any new game.

Then some months back, I did what I called the "Scorched Earth Challenge" where I sold off every item I had and sold down to QTY 1 of each crop. The goal was to start over and see how long it took me to get back to QTY 10 of EVERY item I could make at the time except candy and jewelry. I sold off every last item and fruit I had and while I still had my machines unlocked, and all my animals, it was still mostly "starting over".

And you know what? It was not that big a deal, really. I thought it would be much worse, but it really didn't take that long to get it all back, and one of the unexpected consequences of all that was that by getting rid of it all, it really forced me to realize that those little digital items are not that important, and no matter what you're looking for, there are more coming down the road.

I've really relaxed quite a bit since doing it, and I just play to play. I have some machines that sit idle for days, some weeks, and don't really worry anymore about how fast I climb levels.

I did the same thing as cheddar awhile back. It was quite cathartic. I definitely thinks it makes u more relaxed when playing the game. Now I don't care if I ignore a truck order or send a boat away without filling anything (which I highly recomend for any sugar/cream boat anyway) I don't think we ever "win" the game anyway. It's just a nice little journey. I play on a mini ipad and even that is hard on my middle aged eyes. Don't know how u guys play on ur phones. Congrats on ur new baby! My baby is 32 years old today!

Thanks all! I'm gearing up to try for my TTII and TTIII, and then I'm DEFINITELY doing the scorched earth challenge. Sounds like fun!

Cheddar-did you sell off expansion materials as well?

PerkyCox- I actually downloaded this while my little one was doing a "nurse every 45 minutes at night" binge. I was on the third or fourth week of that and was falling asleep feeding her.. so I downloaded this app. :-) I really don't mind the lack of sleep because before long they get older and don't want the snuggles. :-) I'm loading up for the TT challenges based on advice from that thread. I suspect I will need more than one try. :-)

Vee--Playing on the phone is kind of rough. Lots of accidental diamonds spent. SADLY!

Some, but not all. Getting rid of them was not a condition of the challenge, since they don't help you produce any other items any faster.

I ended up selling a lot of the "common" items for me - screws and tape - because I needed to make room in my barn and I could tell I wasn't going to get to upgrade before I ran out of space. Those EM's take up a lot of room, and making 10 of everything really adds up.

Don't fret, it's not a given that they won't want snuggles. My "baby" is 25 and still loves them.

Good luck on your TTII and III! I'll be doing the TTIII the minute this boat event is over, and then I, too, am going to do the scorched earth thing of Cheddar's. I need to dump it all and start over because the counting and piling up is starting to drive me nuts!!
