What’s wrong with the AI, I’ve tried and tried

The AI has been broken it seems for an eternity, I’ve tried and tried and tried, but it’s so hit and miss it’s now a drop and hope game.
ive done many attack, where I’ve dropped an archer, gone to where I wanted it, dropped a couple more in the same place and they decide to run past a couple of other buildings and the one taking damage to hit something random. Now I understand if I dropped in different places it will go to different targets, but these were in pretty much same place, (fat fingers aloud). There was no other buildings around, but one archer hit mortar, the two other archers hit firecrackers behind it, a 4th archer hit a canon nowhere near it but run though the base anyway. All control seems to be lost, and the troops still chasing the CC, even if there not attacking, why does it keep changing targets. It’s a complete joke. I just wished I had a screen recorder to send to COC dev team and ask them, how is this right.
i getting to the point now the game has become over complicated and the AI is struggling to adapt to everything. To be honest, I hardly play now because of either how bad it’s getting or I have just played way to long and seeing how it’s getting, from how simple the game used to be for fun

There is a random element to the AI in builder base, it is extremely frustrating.

They mostly follow the 'rule of three' but with some weird random element too. I wish I could explain it.

Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer the AI of air troops over ground. I can usually predict where they will go although sometimes they do make strange choices. The real unknown in most of my matches is the BM. I think that the way troops interact with walls and the buildings behind them is what everyone complains about. I’ve had barbarians and BM walk completely around a column of walls and walk past two other buildings (usually the crusher) to get to the building that they were closest to when they started. I see it happen in the main base too. That’s why I like air in BB, way better AI reactions.

I'd suggest using troops that dont require exact pathing, like the archers do. Like Big said, try air - its fun!

The game is meant to have a bit of skill element to it. If it’s a drop and hope game, then it’s only good for kids. As I know most adults will get annoyed if skill is removed,

and yes yes to another comment, it annoys me in the main base, on why the pathing only works every couple of attacks.

This is is one reason, my playing time has gone down hill

I think that random element takes account of remaining building hit points, in that the troops acquire their targets from the rule of 3 but choose what to attack based on the target with the highest hit points first.

The real """unknown""" is when a minion thinks it's perfectly reasonable to go diagonally around the target and die because it went into a defense's range instead of just going straight, or a baby drag strafing sideways towards another baby drag and cancelling the ability for both even though I specifically dropped it far enough for that to not happen

I think the most Disgusting thing in the clash of clans is the AI of Barbarians and Battle Machine

There is a AI problem in where the troop decides to attack. And I’ve noticed, that when I win or lose, there is a difference in how the AI attacks, if you have the higher probable win, your troops act better in its choices, so many times I’ve lost on 2 or 3 percent, because a troop gets to close to a defence tower, I’ve seen a while back a troop go around the kill line of a defence to get an extra building to beat me, when I’ve watched the replay it was by one building, with the choices that the AI makes to hit a building and not go to closest target

    Grabbing my tinfoil hat...

All kidding aside...I do agree that there’s something else there; the “rule of 3” isn’t the only thing. I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is, and it is not for want of trying. There’s a pattern there but I just can’t quite pick it out. Most of the time, it is exactly How it is described - three closest buildings, fastest access, etc. Other times...not so much so. I think it most noticeable with the BM because he is a single offensive unit.
