    Exclamation ¿reset to 4000 cups?

What happens to supercell. That they believe fair to mix players of the world top along with average players. With the reset to the 4000 cups they match the mid-level players against the world top players. This is very damaging to all players of medium level and to a greater extent to those of low level. They do not let us go up by matching up with rivals that have the base to the most people that are in the world top facing against humble players. Do you think SUPERCELL is right?

Agree. The humble people are being disadvantaged.

Yes, I think they are right. The trophy system actually doesn’t work at the top end without a reset every so often. You can only match people within a certain range of you, can’t match a clan mate, and can’t match someone already in your log, and (unlike legends) might do tens or even hundreds of battles in a day... which leaves the air quite thin enough up top already with always seeing the same lot of people, never mind how it would be without a reset as bases get even more stratified over time. Remove resets and the whole thing would break.

The big bases and trophy pushers will pretty quickly rise to a point they don’t match smaller bases any longer - from hours to days, depending on how active they are.

not sure i agree with your question enough to answer in reality, season reset doesnt give much chance of putting you against worlds best, vast majority of >4k trophies are not much above it...odds are you face them from the start while the big guys just reclimb. at worst you lose a day or two of fringe loot.
below 4k....everyone slides roughly evenly i assume so no-one is particularly disadvantaged compared to their piers.

This reset wasn't that bad because (almost) f2p players have good troops now, too. Won 9/10 attacks in the first hour. The last reset was much worse with lvl13 barbs against max bases

It’s crude but broadly effective. An improvement would be a tiered reset similar to that used in Clash Royale.

I attacked one hour after the reset and didn't see a single maxed player, everyone had the normal base of a f2p player (like myself) or even weaker players.
Before the season reset I was at 4500 range.
And now like 4-5 hours after the reset I'm already at 4200 cups.
The chance of being matched with the top players (the gemmers) is very low.
Btw my base been doing much better this morning after the reset.

I saw slightly stronger players than me the first three attacks this morning. Tbh though, two of the losses were on me as I attacked poorly. Third took advantage of my gc being down. Took a break and got my three wins in three tries against what looked like normal competition. I think the whales moved off pretty quickly so I ended up just over 4k. Not nearly as bad as last reset.

    This is a good solution.

Top players (who are generally paying whales) want to climb the ladder.

Driven free-to-play players want to progress at the optimal rate given whatever limited resources they have.

Unfortunately, the freemium game model tells us that in order to get paying players, those players need to be incentivized by feeling powerful. This means unfair matchups that allow for some "noob pounding". The paying players pay to win, and the free players are free to play and lose. The ladder will eventually spread back, but making the pay players feel good is the most important aspect to keeping revenues rolling in.

This is too cynical a take on it, I think. For the max player the season start may include a small amount of “noob pounding” but only because you have no control over who you match. That ends very quickly due to the limited cup range you can match in (about +/-200). So that is a maximum of roughly 6-8 “noob pounds” per whale once a month, unless the whale was slow off the mark at season start and doesn’t get going until the smaller bases have already done some days of raiding for loot and risen off 4000. That is hardly game-breaking and could only be fixed by making some different matchmaker or ad hoc adjustment to the existing one just for season starts.

So to me it’s a pseudo-problem or quirk of one or two days of the season, not evidence of any money grabbing psychological massaging manipulative agenda.

TBH, and sorry if this sounds blunt, I think you have a bee in your bonnet over freemium games that provide any advantage at all in progression for gemming, and will seize everything that looks like a supporting piece of evidence to argue the case. Here it’s that after reset big gemmed active pushing bases can temporarily match smaller f2p ones at 4000 cups or just over.

So let’s look at me: I gemmed some but not all progression on my BB, enjoy pushing and am sitting at 4300 now... and less than 24 hours after reset just matched Urin Trouble... so if SC were trying to do a job to massage me psychologically keeping me buttered up for BH8 spending by sending me poor little noobs to bully, handing me one of the best forum cup players who is fully gemmed including walls is a poor effort! BTW, he is a great player and I’m pleased to match him when I do, although he nearly always wins our matches... to me the days I can win one against him are worth far more than any string of knockovers of any small bases.

If you think that my present situation slightly above the pack incentivises me by having me feel powerful from bullying a stream of less developed bases, it really just shows you don’t have the relevant experience of being in that position to judge.
