Cool A Gemner’s point of view.

I’ve spent so far ~$270 on Gems, and I don’t feel bad for doing it, for now I stopped spending because I am worried. I’ve been going through the forums for a month now, and I see all these negative posts about supercell going down, greedy, high prices etc.. And it makes me wonder, will the day come were the game will not load anymore for good? Will I lose all the money I spent so far? And another thing that made me stop spending money “for now” is the fast frequency of needing to spend money. An update came I spent $50 another one came I spent $100 few weeks later a new one came I spent another $100. Haha so I told myself it seems that this is going to happen for ever. So why try to spend real money to have the superiority for only few weeks: /. Now I am confused do I spend or not?

Well...you're not getting it back ever...so you've lost it already!

However, you do have a slightly prettier village than some...well, and in-tangible graphical representation of a village anyway.

Ive been on a few Game forums and you know when it ceases to exist.
On one first person shooter I played for a few years they didnt pull the plug until hardly any players where online and it too over a year of no updates also ,then months of warnings for the handful of players.
The way I see it AND being in contact with the staff in the background I think there isnt anything to worry about for quite some time.
Its not as if they need to worry about keeping servers open.
Knowing the company has plenty of funds should keep peace of mind even a while after a last update.
There are NO current plans to end the games they have nor do they even want to hear it lol

You, like many others, are a casual gemmer.. And ultimately you are the only one who can gauge if you have "lost" your money..

I have spent also on gems (and plan to again) but based on how much i play i think i can justify it to myself.

Supercell have a long, long way to go before they shoot themselves in the foot...

I truly believe that once they force ALL the High end gemmers out the game then that will be the point when they scale back.

As long as the minor gemmers who number in the thousands and thousands spend the odd 10 - 20 (denomination of your choice) supercell will be funded for a long time. Why would you close a profitable revenue stream. The top gemmers spend a lot but are few.
SC would have to break the game to rid themselves of their income.....

Im not so sure guess without knowing the split it is difficult to speculate...

However... SC are all about the "BIG" paydays... Trust me once that Stops the wheels will slow... You will not see the rapid release of updates as we are now.

    I agree with billwinklesbear

Cash is what keeps our updates going.

I also spend money on this game. The way I see it, if you enjoy the game and can afford to spend without it becoming a problem than why not. It really is pick and choose where our cash goes. I was a comic book collector for years, to the point where it became an addiction. Before Clash Of Clans came out I was back into comics again, only this time purchasing than online and reading than as well. These online comics were not tangible, they would never be sold, so I stopped to play Clash Of Clans knowing for me I would need to invest cash into this game. My point is it is a win, win for everyone. To pay to play for me is helping myself and Supercell and Apple if I got down to the nitty gritty. I think this game will go on for years to come, I for one hope so anyway.
