Is it actually possible to keep all of your animals fed on just 2 Feeders?

Chickens can't be fed on just one feeder, 6 chickens per coop 6x3 = 18
each feed is 3, 18/3 = 6. need 6 lots of feed to feed all chickens they take 4 mins each 4x6 = 24mins chickens take 20 mins

Does it become easier when i get the gold stars?

Absolutely. The trick is to have lots (or all) of the slots opened up. Set the feeds that take a long time for overnight. Mine runs constantly. I try to keep extra feed of every type.

This is the way! Once I figured this out, it became easier.

But then an odd thing happened to me as I leveled up and my gold supply stayed more full... I started to find it easier to just buy some of it. There's always lots of eggs and wool in the paper, so I never harvest my chickens or sheep anymore. Bacon and goat milk are a little harder to find sometimes but still enough that I rarely harvest from pigs or goats either. Pretty much the only food I ever make now is cow feed... milk is always in demand for me.
    Disclaimer to the above post:
When offered the 'Game Specialist' title, I misread and thought it said 'Special Game-ist'. Since mama always told me I was special, I figured it was a perfect fit and just signed right up. But I do like blue so I'll still try my best... if you were hoping for a better answer, you might have to wait for someone smarter to come along.

Yep. Except I harvest pigs and cows regularly and just keep reserves of the other feed in my barn for the days when I need them for a boat or a townie and inevitably the DD is devoid of them.

I find having all 9 slots open on both is crucial to feed mill management.

Especially now we have Sanctuary animals to feed as well.

I have always had 5 slots open on each feed mill

feed mill one: 5 x 3 cow feed

feed mill two: 5 x 3 pig feed

take from cows, feed cows, put on new feed

take from pigs, feed pigs, put on new feed

when the feed mills are not in operation, I make the other feed.

i will admit that when I recently took a brand new farm to level 20,it was much more difficult to manage food for all of the animals. Need to find what works for your style.

Yes, but you have to plan ahead, make food frequently, and pay attention to your stock. It helps to have all 9 slots open, but many farmers do with less.

    FEEDMILL TRICKS

*saves you lots of time and optimize your feedmill sufficiency
(Mine is 5 slots open & fully mastered, of course 9 slots is best)

Fill both feeders in a PARALLEL (simultaneously) way not randomly so no animals will be left unfed while others are already munching.

Example # 1 Cows and Pigs

    Feeder 1 :
    slot 1 = cow feed
    slot 2 = cow feed
    slot 3 = cow feed
    slot 4 = pig feed
    slot 5 = pig feed

    Feeder 2 :
    slot 1 = cow feed
    slot 2 = cow feed
    slot 3 = pig feed
    slot 4 = pig feed
    slot 5 = pig feed

By end of 1 hour 15 minutes you will have feeds for both cows and pigs.(the first 24 minutes will give you 15 cow feeds)

    Example # 2 Chickens

    Feeder 1: slots 1,2,3 = chicken feed

    Feeder 2 : slots 1,2,3 = chicken feed

By the end of 12 minutes you'll have 18 chicken feeds

In this method you will save time, you only need 3 slots for each feeder to feed all the chickens.

P.s. I've added this trick to the General discussion so I can share this to more farmers esp. the new ones ^_^

    For feed tasks
Starting with enough feed in the barn to feed all animals once, harvest then feed all animals (15 sheep, 15 pigs, 15 cows, 12 goats, 18 chickens),
then just do chickens and cowe
    Feeder 1
    6 * ch, 3*cow
    Feeder
    6 * ch, 2*cow

    As space becomes available

    Feeder 1
    Add 5 chicken
    Feeder 2
Add 7 chicken (the extra cow on feeder 1 = 2 extra chickens on feeder 2)

Now go to the top and repeat

You might need to add or subtract 3 chicken on each feeder depending if it runs ahead or behind.

Once task is done, make up food for pigs, sheep & goats

I have 6 slots open on each machine and don’t have any trouble keeping my animals fed. I make sanctuary feed overnight by buying cheap (10 for 10 coins) wheat and getting the machines started before I go to sleep.
