Given that I was never looking to discuss this with you, I'm not sure why you're even trying. I blame myself for responding to you. There is a saying I try to live by: "Never engage in a battle of the wits with an unarmed man." Seeing as how you are hopelessly outgunned, I will respond to your statements briefly, and then instruct you to move on. I put a lot of thought behind what I say, and clearly you do not. So after reading this, I think you should just stop responding. I will try to lay every thing out as simply as possible.
1. I never said this product should be perfect or without defects. In fact, in my original post I outlined two potential responses SuperCell should consider: one of which was to give notice of this bug to customers. This option necessarily contemplates the continued existence of this game notwithstanding flaws. To say I am seeking a guarantee of perfection is a prime example of the strawman logical fallacy, something with which I urge you to familiarize yourself before ever seeking future disputation.
2. It's nice that you live life accepting mediocracy. I sometimes envy the simple-minded. That being said, I, and apparently many others, do not. While seeking perfection is a fool's errand in most situations, striving for the best is what distinguishes people, companies, and products. I accept that life isn't bug free, but I aim to minimize the problems to a reasonable degree. If you don't mind eating cockroaches that's on you, but don't thrust your subpar ideological underpinnings on the rest of the consumer base. I'm sure your lackluster life, full of insect-ridden food and defective products, has gone well so far, but most people aim for higher quality. Your life must be much more exciting than my own, where I can be reasonably sure that everything is working as it should. Of course, this is Darwinism at work, and I'd love to be a fly on the wall of your life to see just exactly when it comes to an early end at the hands of some defective toaster or airbag.
3. I'm not sure where the concept of this game being essential to anyone's existence or happiness came in, but that is nowhere near the thrust of my argument. Accordingly, I will not respond to it any further.
4. Apple and Google can't fix the problem; SuperCell can. Why use a third party when you can go directly to the source?
5. After reading everything I have said, I'm not sure how you can say there is no injury. Then again, it's hard trying to see things through the eyes of a moron. That doesn't really matter though, because I never asked what you thought anyway. I came here to talk to someone on behalf of SuperCell and Steve. If you want to tumble through life in a whirl of ignorance and naivety that's your decision, but if so, just shut up and sit down on the sideline while the people who are concerned talk. No one needs a fool tugging at their pant leg crying "but I disagree!" when they're looking to have a constructive conversation with someone else.
6. Your analogy to traffic lights misses the mark. A better analogy would be if you purchased a device that allowed you to drive through toll booths more quickly (see: EZPass), but it failed to actually register with the booth when you drove through, or charged your account more than it should have. The issue isn't time so much as it is fitness of a product for a specific purpose. You don't pay to not sit at a traffic light. The traffic light doesn't materially misrepresent some important piece of information upon which you rely.
7. The game being free means absolutely nothing in any of this. Just because something is free doesn't mean it is lawless. If BMW gave you a car for free, and you got in an accident and the airbags failed to deploy and you snapped your neck, are you saying you should have no recourse? Are you really that stupid? Further, for the specific class of people who purchased gems this game is not free. Those people are losing money. More importantly, we are all being lied to. You, for whatever reason, just assume the role of a lapdog and embrace it, likely because you're very simple-minded. Others, however, would prefer to be treated appropriately.
Again, I urge you, just don't respond. You've made yourself look bad enough at it is and I really don't think you have the cognitive capacity to continue any further. It's odd that you are vehemently responding to statements not intended to you, yet you are telling me to move on. I think you need to take some of your own advice.
To be clear, it is you who must move on.
