.. It's in all of their games. Now, as I can barely raid 2 million gold per day as a town hall 8, I do not care. It is all i can do to keep my four builders busy. However, this should be an easy fix! I am suspicious, as something like this would actually have to be written into the code for it to occur. They call it a time "bug", but if it is a time "bug", then why is it a nice, round, five seconds? Calling it a "bug", then making a thread on it, I feel, are great plays on Supercell's part.i mean, don't get me wrong, I LOVE Supercell. They make money because their game is good, not because it is impossible to advance. You can do very well without gems, and I really respect supercell for that.

Today, I was playing on my iPad for most of the day, waiting out the last 5 mins of my upgrade, when suddenly, I get a notification on my iPhone, which I haven't used since yesterday, saying that my upgrade had already finished. I was confused at first, wondering why there was still 3 minutes left on the iPad, but it was done on my iPhone. Then I remembered that someone had told me a while back of this "time lag bug", and I just thought to myself "pssht, it can't be THAT bad", but sure enough, I had experienced it for myself, and I can only imagine how annoying it must be for those who play for hours on end, constantly adding time to their upgrades unknowingly.

Its all greed. Obviously Supercell is going to deny it...By making a thread and pretending to educate everyone about this "bug", they can get away with it.
I also see a lot of brain washed people here thinking its a real bug. A real bug gets fixed....

I could give you an answer on why its hard to fix but of course that would take effort and time. Seeing as you have obviously came here to rant on about something you haven't even researched, why should I go out of my way to tell you? It's not like anyone these days does things for themselves... I'm fine with the people that are against it and have well supported arguments, it's the in incoherent whining like this that gets on my nerves. Rant over

    Good question.

Since the time lag started with Hay Day (verified by Bayer), then continued with Clash of Clans, and then Supercell fully aware of the issue released Boom Beach:

It seems Supercell cannot/will not do anything about this "bug". Some people question whether it was put on purpose, who really knows, but what we do know after at least 1.5 years documenting the time lag, is that Supercell is NOT fixing the "bug" intentionally.

I fix bugs for a living, yeah it's easy, and even if it's the bug of the century, 1.5 YEARS is enough time for an intern with a minimum wage to learn about Java, Objective C, Web Services, DataBases, get acquainted with their code, backends, technologies and DB structure to fix this issue by himself.

I've said it before, if the "bug" is there after 1.5 years of someone acknowledging it, it shows either incompetence or a scam.

Agreed. I guess supercell told him it was a hard bug to fix, that's why he was ranting so hard. *Such innocence, much pity, very sad*

Any decision Supercell makes will be in the best interest of their profits, period. Luckily for us, by making us happy, they increase profits at the same time so it's usually a win win situation.

The time lag feature is one of those things that generates enough extra profits to outweigh the anger and disappointment it causes the people who know about it, so at this moment they will not fix it. If there was a large enough outcry in that it would start to negatively affect profits, they would fix it EXTREMELY fast. It's apparent 160 pages of posts about the feature is not a large enough outcry, which only goes to show how much extra profit is being made from it.

I would not be surprised one bit if they already had a variable set in the code where they could switch the time lag on/off (true/false boolean). These guys are professional coders, a feature like this should be child's play for them to tinker with and/or add and remove on any whim.

Another feature Supercell loves is how they only give players a 5 minute warning before a maintenance break. Why you ask?! I'll answer with a question. Why would an entity who's sole purpose is profit, give you fair warning before a maintenence break, which would then halt much gem spending across the world until maintenance was over? Prevent people from wasting gems on worthless barracks boosting? Pause the boost during a maintenance? Not on Supercell's watch!! (pardon the pun) Welcome to the mind of a corporation in the big machine.

    Rant finished.
