SC can also read it and adjust the matchmaking but I doubt that this is the line-up they've used for their long streak.
There's nothing to copy there. I am guessing these guys are simply good attackers. Look at their lineups:

Colin, see above. None of their recent logs show any sandbaggers, of course I can't see the most recent 10v10, so will need to wait and see if it shows up. Their aEng is 20% even though there are no engies shown on any of those available wars. So clearly they're are doing something new, but it doesn't appear to have anything to do with their win streak. Their log only shows that 6 matches out of 14 were without the defenseless bases. Only one war this month is visible. 8 matches could have been with an engineered roster.
They had a th12 3 star rate of 28.5% and their top bases were very good. In combination with an additional level 5 th12 and two additional max th11 attackers this was too difficult for us.

We have 3 th12s with Giga teslas, they have 6. Very unfair. They have some engineered
And defenceless bases which should penalize them, but instead has given them a significant advantage. They have a 10 win war streak at the moment, so I am sure other clans have likely been in a similar situation as us when facing them.
We have a decent streak going on too, but all our wins have come against similarly matched opponent clans...this kind of match up makes the game not very fun. We hope someone takes note to tweek the algorithm to prevent it happening to straight up clan match ups.

Assuming 3StarLarry is your clan, did you include the sandbagged 11s you have in this war or no? Also, you are carrying a large number of 11s. How many of them are max or near max?

War Start Time: approx 9:00 CST, took about an hour and a half to get a matchup.
25v25 war. We have 4 Th11s at the top, only one of which has the eagle yet. They have a near max TH12, a TH11 sans eagle, and several engineered 11s throughout. IF their 1 is even remotely competent, they will easily get a perfect war, but it will take a miracle for us to take down that TH12.
Their 25 3*’d our 1, so much fun.

is Arkansas your clan? if so you need to clean up your lineup. you have sandbagged bases scattered throughout. and a huge gap between th8 and th4.
you're going to get crazy matchups if you roll with that stuff.
