I didn’t get my first puzzle piece for my first boat either. I went to put it in the book and it wasn’t there. I went and looked at the event and there should be 2 pieces filled in, and there’s only 1.

Usually boat orders and the determination if it has a puzzle piece are generated as soon as the boat order is generated which is when you send away the previous boat and not when the boat actually arrives.
So if a boat was scheduled to arrive without a puzzle piece or sitting at the dock it won't suddenly change to a puzzle piece boat when the event kicks in.


However when the event ends as long as you send away puzzle boat #4 within the time frame of the event the next boat should have a puzzle piece whether you actually get and complete the boat within the event time frame or not.


That's how it worked last puzzle piece event and expect that it works like that again

Let me piece together the information we have so far.

You have completed 2 boats so far while the event already started. Right ?
And your event board shows only 1 puzzle piece, this is also correct right ?

This IS very possible with the scenario I explained earlier.
Im guessing you did get that puzzle piece for the second boat, however chances are your boat order and whether or not a boat will give a puzzle piece on that first boat was determined before the event kicked in.

The start of this event does NOT change boats already on docks or boats which are expected to arrive as the boat order was already made beforehand. All boat orders generated after the event started will have a puzzle piece with a maximum of 5 of course.

When the event is close to the end it will even out. If you send away a boat within the time frame of the event the next boat will have a puzzle piece on it (unless you've already reached the maximum of 5). It does NOT matter whether that boat arrives or is completed within the time frame of the event.

This is how it happened to me:
- My first boat (after the event started) had a puzzle piece on the dock
- I used 5 diamonds to call the boat
- I filled up the crates and sent it off
- After the boat left, I went to the sanctuary to check and there was no puzzle piece

I think it's brilliant they capped it with five! Says to me they care more about the integrity of the game than immediate gratification of a stellar diamond spending day. It keeps the fun staggered. I wasn't expecting it but when I saw the limit I was pretty quickly tickled by it. Thanks SC!
