Great post. Sadly SC will not answer a single question I'm guessing, since all they have said since before the first big MM update was essentially "we hear your concerns and will worry about it after the October update"

    Answer: noone knows
i'm going to go with answer:
they do what they do on purpose, for business decisions.
    buff/nerf cycles. etc..
not sense of fairness or equality (unless at the time it happens to coincide)
    or...
    they are hopelessly incompetent.

either way.. if you expect them to make the game how you want i,t instead of how it is, and adapt to it..
you are typically just out o luck.
that "maybe next month" turns into "maybe next year"

i prefer to take matters into my own hands.
there are plenty of successful clans that have different play styles / rosters / upgrades around here that do it.

Yea but when there is very little information out there about what is changing and what will change down the road, makes having a gameplan difficult. Clearly, skipping to th11 and maxing out bowlers and getting the warden doesn't seem to hurt anyone but beyond that...who knows? Are 0.5s the devil now or are they ok? Kind of tough to undo a near max th10 to convert to a minimax.

Honestly, I'd just settle for consistency in what they say their goal is with matchmaking and the changes they make.

Added mention of smaller wars = bigger pool, generally better matching.
It's always the closet engineers that are the most bitter. Trying to maintain a righteous pose while doing exactly what they claim to hate, lashing out at anyone that points out the obvious.

    Another one for the FAQ.

War weight is closely connected to the "war win bonus" (one star is enough) one receives in case of war victory: by a factor of 7.5. It is also the immediate loot one receives after three-starring a base in war. Example: 13600 Gold contained in any storage, 5 containers, war weight 68k, thus, war win bonus: 510k. In other words, CoC displays the bonus, the connection to defences is just an (well-grounded) assumption.

True but storage weight is an equivalent measure, and just as easy to check. Think I'll leave it alone rather than complicate things.

Considering adding an intent-based definition of engineering. Really shouldn't be controversial at this point, yet it kinda is. What say ye?

It's a very controversial area, as you know mate.
Your 'A' typical knowledgeable Maxer (with a fully maxed base) is historically likely to follow an X.5 progression path at the beginning of his new TH journey before placing defences.
Is he/she engineering? - I suppose so, by current definitions.
Is he/she an engineer? - Not really, he's a maxer, so the 'longevity' of the intent is generally short lived.
And yet there's an obvious contradiction here between 'engineering' and 'being an engineer'.

    ---

That being said, I'd possibly suggest adding some facts, such as :-

    a) Engineering has always existed to some degree within Clan Wars
    b) Engineering has various forms, not just the mainstream offence prioritised 'lopsided' bases (you know the score better than I do) etc

I do like the word 'Intent' within the engineering context, and certainly perma X.5s fit into that category, it's the short term offence over defence where controversy often looms etc
