The gold size Carp was definitely a green lure, but I dont remember the location for sure. it was either 3, 5, or 6.

John, for the table: I have only caught 51 of the regular fish, all 12 of the special ones. Once this event is over, I will concentrate on the normal fish more

So far this time I've caught the bronze Carp, a couple bronze Barb and Zander, and one bronze Lake Sturgeon. Weights have gotten me 100 lbs. from final goal so I'm doing okay with that, but--gosh--it's taken me as long as 30 minutes per fish! Is that typical? Seems mine slip the hook very, very often.
Lol...Wow! You have a lot of patience; 30 minutes per fish!

I do agree event fish are a little harder to catch. It seems like when they get close to that inner circle, off they run, stretching the line to max! It also seems that in order to land these, when you finally do get the inner circle green, it has to remain green a moment or two longer than the regular fish.

Here's a tip that I previously read somewhere on the forum; maybe it will help reduce your 30 minute battles!

When a fish runs and hits the outer circle making it red, instead of pulling harder or further in the opposite direction, move your finger towards the fish- even as close as right beside it. Sometimes that will remove the red in the outer ring, enabling you to work it back to center. I've used that many times and seems to work not 100%, but I'd say most times I can keep it on the line and eventually get it in.

    Hope that helps!

Also, and because I like breaking things down. What the top contributors do is nice, but it helps next to zero regarding the global goal. It is us regular folk who make up for the most part. (top 10 contributors: maybe around 20,000 lbs...that is about 0.01% of the required amount).
Thanks GirlMixALot for your opinion, I'll go with it! I bring great news, just caught a Gold Catch Northern Pike, leaving me with just 4 more fishes (all gold catches: Yellow Perch, Bluespotted Sunfish, Asp and Brook Trout) to have caught all the fishes in the game!

Initially I was thinking of catching more heavy weight fishes but there seems to be no point if us regular folk can still make the event a success, also considering that I've already caught all the 12 event fishes and gotten the Big Game Fisher III achievement. 4 more fishes to go!!

Gold Zander, area 1, green lure.

So quiet in here, are any of you sleeping or doing other things besides fishing? Omg Just kidding

Durian: I'm watching you err your book rather. Thanks for accepting my request ). I'm sure you will get them all eventually, some seem super hard. Not sure if you use diamonds to speed up things etc. I know it will take me forever to catch them all. I still need 4 species..not even mentioning the diff weights, but really, I like it. So I still have something to look forward to.

Regarding Bulldoglover's post (Bdog, you are doing fantastic, saw your fishing book, we are neighbors): for me, those special fish are easy to catch. I often do not do anything at all. Throw line, keep it relatively short and do nothing at all. Yes at first they are struggeling a bit, but not much so....I keep my finger in position and don't jerk around at all. Boom, fish caught.

Don't know if you'd think I'm patient if you heard me cursing the fishes as I fight them. Ha! All I know is my finger gets very sore. I think I was pressing too hard; better luck after I loosened up a bit.

You're definitely right about having to keep the green circle longer. Lost a couple of fish before I caught on to that detail.

Thanks for the line tip. I'm going to go try that right now!
