And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...
966's Clan Wars idea!
The thread is a bit long, but bear with me. It has some pictures too, so it won't be too boring. I'll try to include a bit of humor, also.
Note: Edited parts will be in red.

1. Introduction:
The thread is a bit long, but bear with me. It has some pictures too, so it won't be too boring. The pictures aren't that good, but please ignore that fact. I'll try to include a bit of humor also.
So. Clan Wars. A lot of people who makes threads about it want them, but they usually don't put details. No one has details, so the ideas are usually opposed. I agree that there are several problems to clan wars, but I wanted to make a thread anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Problems Usually Associated with Clan Wars:
-not enjoyable by all (ex. something where only the leader can attack)
-does not follow the spirit of the game (must be something where you can just do something quick and then put it back down)
-requires everyone to sign on at once
-someone opting out largely affects the clan war
-exploitable, one clan could battle another clan made of their alternate accounts and effectively "donate" resources
-too complicated
-full of loopholes
-something like everyone attacking at once on a giant battlefield
-clan disparities
-clans dropping trophy levels on purpose to fight weaker players
-dealing with people quitting or joining clans
-no incentive, compensation insufficient for the resources paid
My idea addresses all of the problems. Opinions, such as it being too complicated, I don't think it is, but that's just one person's opinion.
So let's get to the idea, shall we?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Brief Description:
So. My idea for clan wars. There will be two types of clan wars. Both will be available; the leader or elder can choose which to play.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Clan Battle Type Number 1...
Clan War Idea: Base Destroyer
a. Overall Idea, Unlocking the Map
All clans having 20 or more members can pay 100,000 elixir, donated by the members, to unlock a clan map. It'll look sorta like this (ignore the quality of the picture):
It'll tell you how much more you need to donate. The "Begin" button will be gray until enough Elixir is donated; once enough is donated, the "Begin" button will turn red-orange and the leader or elders will be able to begin the map.
Once you unlock the map, a button will pop up on your clan page:
Clicking on that will take you to the Clan War page, which I will explain later.
The map will be a 60x60 map. You will start out with a TH1, and you will build the base the same way as your personal village, with a few changes. No obstacles will spawn on the CV(Clan Village) map. You will get a one-week shield at the Clan Village after you unlock the map to build up your base.
Even if you drop down to below 20 members, you won't lose your base.
b. What You Can Build on the Clan Village Map:
You can build only one: DE storage, CC, TH, BK altar, and AQ altar
You cannot build: Spell Factory, Barracks, Army Camps, and Builder Huts
You can build 2x the amount as normal of: everything else, including walls, traps and decorations(sure, why not?)
DE storages will hold twice as much as normal, and have twice as much HP. I'll explain more later.
There will not be any Builder Huts in the CV, but you will have builders. The number of builders you have equals:
sum of all builder huts in clan/10, rounding to the nearest number. Max number of builders: 12.
For example, if your whole clan had 90 builders total, then you could use 90/10=9 builders on your clan bases.
(If someone leaves a clan, and you lose a builder: If all builders are busy, no builds will be affected, but once a builder is finished, that builder will disappear.)
So you build normally, getting resource donations from your fellow members. That includes elixir, DE, and gold. You will be able to see how much each member donated. The next picture is the page that will show up when you tap the "Clan Wars" button on your clan screen. Ignore the "Capture the Flag" button for now; that is the other Clan War mode.
The Donating Button will look like this:
You would type in the amount of resources you want to donate, then hit "Donate". The list on the side names all of the members and shows the amount of points worth of resources they donated.
1 gold=5 points, 1 elixir=1 point, 1 DE=100 points
Leaders and elders will be able to alter base design. Like you can see in the above picture, the "Edit" and "Battle" button will be gray for normal members. I'll talk about the "Battle" button later. Only one person can be in edit mode at a time; if someone is using edit mode, then the button will appear gray to everyone else.
This is what visit mode will look like:
You will be able to see the base and your clan rank. Everything else will be the same as if you were looking at someone else's base.
CV CC can hold 2x the amount of a normal CC. As soon as there is space, a CV request will pop up in the clan chat:
c. Attacking System:
So you built your village; what now? The leader and elders can click on the "Battle" button, and this will show up:
You can choose to attack "Impervious" bases, normal bases, or both. I'll talk about "Impervious" bases later. The number of active players is the number of people on right now. There's also something that says donated members; I'll talk about that now.
As you saw a few pictures ago, other than donating resources, you could also donate troops and spells. Clicking on that button takes you here:
It shows you all the troops and spells you currently have. Tap on the top bar to donate troops to the clan battle. It'll move to the bottom bar. If you made a mistake, tap on the bottom bar to move it back to the top bar. You can only donate up to 12 housing spaces worth of troops and 1 spell, so choose carefully. Also, once you donate, you can't take it back, so be careful!
Now you can see that the donated members talk about the number of members who donated, and the troops and spells donated refer to what was donated. Tapping "Details" will show you all of the donated troops and spells.
When you tap "Attack", the battle search will match you with people with the same TH level, or one higher or lower. IT is the same as attacking individually; you can hit next if you like. It will cost 1,000 gold to skip which will come out of the Clan Village storages. Once you find a nice village, you can hit "Attack!".
Once the leader or an elder decides to attack, a message will pop up in all fellow clan member screens:
If you hit the "Decline" button, you go back to whatever you were doing. If you hit "Accept", then you have 3 minutes of free time before you go into battle. You can use this time to view the opponent's base and discuss tactics. After the 3 minutes, you will be taken to the opposing Clan Village.
The leader/elder who chose to attack can see the number of players going to fight, but not who they are. He can choose whether to fight or not depending on how he feels.
By the way, you can still attack CVs when some of the people in that clan is still on, unless someone is using the edit mode. They will just get a notification that they are being attacked, and they won't be able to visit their Clan Village until it's over. Sad.
d. Troops/Spells You Can Deploy:
-You can only deploy 40 housing spaces worth of troops. You can take all of your troops to the battle, but once you deploy 40 spaces worth, the remaining troops will turn gray.
-Only 6 of each spell allowed to be deployed per clan per battle, making for a total of 30 spells altogether.
-No heroes allowed. That would be too strong, but an army of 50 BKs would be pretty cool.
-one exception: remember the donated troops and spells? Whoever started the battle will have all of those troops in the troop/spell bar, and that person can deploy them plus his own troops.
e. During and After The Battle:
I am wondering if there should be an in-battle chat.
The DE storage will be transparent at the beginning. Transparent DE storages are not affected by lightning. (That's right, no lightning-ing DE storages! Ha, take that!) Once a troop gets within 5 tiles of it, it will turn opaque. Then you can rain your lightning upon it.
So you deploy your troops however you want. There will be a 5 minute time limit. Your spells will affect your fellow teammate's troops. It works the same way as a normal battle: 50% is one star, 40% is a shield, blah, blah, blah.
10% of the stolen loot will be donated to the CV, and the remaining loot is divided equally among the clan. There will be something that tells you who deployed what troops in the end, including the people who donated troops and spells. There will be 2 groups that you can view separately: the active and the donated members. That way, you can give a warning to people who dropped like 20 Barbs and then just watched the rest of the battle.
People who donated troops will also get some loot, even if their troops were not deployed.
f. Revenge:
Revenge works the same way as normal.
g. Rewards:
Now I'll talk about the "Impervious" thing.
Impervious: Any Clan Village that does not lose a battle on defense throughout the whole season will get the "Impervious" title. If you attack a clan's Clan Village and win, they will lose the "Impervious" title. However, you will not get your title back. Every season, it resets and everyone will have the "Impervious" title again. Any clan who had the Impervious" title at the end of the season will get a reward: 40 gems per person. However, the person whoever donated the most amount of points within the clan will get 150 gems.

5. Clan Battle Type Number 2...
Clan War Idea: Capture the Flag
a. Overall Idea, Unlocking the Map:
Again, 100,000 elixir to unlock the field:
This field will be a 25x45 map. You start with a level one Flag Base. Again, a one-week shield.
b. What You Can Build on the CF Map:
You can build 4: cannons, archer towers, each trap
You can build 2: AD's, Hidden Teslas, X-Bows
You can build 1: mortar, wiz tower
You can build 250 walls
Walls cost 5x the normal price, but in elixir. Defenses will cost twice the normal price in gold.
c.What You unlock per Flag Base Level:
-Wall amounts and levels will be unlocked the same way as TH's
-one cannon is unlocked per odd numbered Flag Base level (one at FB level1, two at FB level3, etc.), levels same way as TH
-AT's are unlocked at even numbered levels, level same way as TH
-bombs one per level from FB level1
-spring one per level from FB level3
-giant bombs one per level from FB level5
-air bomb one per level from FB level5
-air mine one per level from FB level7
-AD's are unlocked at level 4 and 7, level same way as TH
-hidden teslas at 6 and 8, levels same way as TH
-X-Bows at levels 8 and 9, levels same way as TH
-mortar at FB level5, levels same way as TH
-wiz tower at level6, levels same way as TH
The same builders will be used in the first and second bases. In other words, it you have 9 builders, you can have 5 one the Clan Village and 4 on the Capture the Flag base, but not 9 on each map.
Again, build normally, getting resource donations from your fellow members. That includes elixir, DE, and gold. You will be able to see how much each member donated.
The Donating Button will look like this:
Type in the amount of resources you want to donate, then hit "Donate".
Again, only one person can be in edit mode at a time. If someone is using edit mode, then the button will appear gray to everyone else.
The Flag Base will have the same HP and will cost the same amount to upgrade as its corresponding TH level. The Flag will be that of the clan's symbol.
You can arrange the stuff as much as you like.
d. Attacking System:
Donating will work the same way as the Base Destroyer system. However, because this is more of a troop vs. troop war, you can donate 24 troops:
When you want to battle someone, then you can click Battle, then hit Active. This will add you to the Battle Pool. You will get matched up with another active clan that has the same level Flag Base, or one higher or lower.
If the both clans accept the battle, a message will pop up in all fellow clan member screens:
If you hit the "Decline" button, you go back to whatever you were doing. If you hit "Accept", then you have 3 minutes of free time before you go into battle. You can use this time to view the opponent's base and discuss tactics. After the 3 minutes, you will be taken to the battlefield. The leader has another chance to decline the battle, being able to see the number of active and donated members.
e. Battlefield:
You will see your map and the opposing clan's map put together, with a 10x25 tile neutral area in between. You can only drop troops in your own 25x45 space. Hopefully, you decided to put your flag all the way on your end of the map. Unfortunately, they probably did that too. It'll look something like this(pretend that the wiz towers are the Flag Bases):
Obviously, the Flag Bases would be further away in real life, the people would have better designs, and the parts of the map where dropping your troops are not allowed would be colored red.
f. Troops/Spells You Can Deploy:
-You can deploy 100 housing spaces worth of troops. You can take all of your troops to the battle, but once you deploy 40 spaces worth, the remaining troops will turn gray.
-Only 6 of each spell allowed to be deployed per clan per battle, making for a total of 30 spells altogether.
-No heroes allowed.
-again, the person who activated the battle will have the extra troops
g. During the Battle:
There is no time limit.
Once you deploy your troops, they will walk over to the opposing clan's side to destroy the defenses and capture the flag. The defenses are to keep that from happening. "No favorite target" troops and "Favorite Target: Resources" troops will go for the nearest target, "Favorite Target: Defenses" troops will go after the nearest tower. The two clans will both be deploying troops at the same time, so have fun! Your spells will affect only fellow troops, not the enemy troops. (Unless it's the Lightning Spell, that will affect your enemy troops. Duh.)
Once your troops reach the opposing Flag Base, they will start attacking it. Once the flag base is gone, it will release the flag and your ground troops can carry the flag back to their side of the field. If a troop starts to attack the flag carrier, it will fight back until one of them is dead. If the troop carrying the flag dies, the flag stays where it was dropped. Another troop can pick it up and start carrying it again. Once the opposing flag passes the end line of your side of the field, you win! Good job!
h. After the Battle:
Your clan will receive 20% of the loot the opposing clan had at their CF map. 10% of it will be donated to your own CF map, and the remaining loot will be divided equally among the clan. There will be something that tells you who deployed what troops in the end, with the active and donated members separate, so you can give a warning to people who dropped like 20 Barbs and then just watched the rest of the battle.
i. Rewards:
The Imperial Flag: There will be 12 Imperial Flags in circulation. Whoever wins the first 12 battles will get the Imperial Flag. That flag will appear in the Flag Base instead of the normal Clan Flag. Anyone who beats a clan with an Imperial Flag will take the Imperial Flag. There will be a separate tab for clans with the Imperial Flag:
As soon as a clan with an Imperial Flag has 5 members on, they will show up in the "Imperial Flag" tab. Once challenged, the clan cannot decline the battle. Anyone can challenge a clan with the Imperial Flag. If two clans with Imperial Flags battle, no exchange of Flags will take place. However, the loser's 96-hour timer will reset.
There will be a 1-hour cooldown between challenges.
Whoever can hold the Imperial Flag for at least 96 hours will get a 100 gem reward per person in the clan. The timer is seen by their clan. However, the person who donated the most points worth of resources during the 96-hour period will get 250 gems.
1 DE=100 points, 1 gold=5 points, 1 elixir=1 point.
However, unless the clan with the Imperial Flag appears in the Battle Pool for at least an hour straight, they cannot get the reward. If they do not appear in the Battle Pool, the 96-hour timer will reset.
And now onto Part 2...
