Collecting Clan War matchups...for science...and stuff!

Full week with no follow up, no response to the limitations of the data/ silliness of the collection method. Feel kind of bad for anyone that put any time into a response.

Maybe Dariang is experiencing the frustration of the players a little bit as well with the war matchmaking. And this was a kind of a "throw your hands up in the air" thread. Dont get me wrong, I am thankful for Dariang helping throughout the process of pushing MatchMaker changes. I was feeling good about SC's progress. His silence though is a little out of the ordinary. Especially with simple questions to answer like why is their no apparent interest in documenting offense levels.....

Result from last war was 20-9, the enemy just gave up, with their bottom baby 10 and max 9 opposite a max defence 10 and big 11.

Another war spin and another shocker. I don’t know I’m up to gathering all the data detail. I’ll leave it as saying all maxer style bases, everyone has the big ticket defence stuff and has it max with the exception we added a young th11 with no eagle yet. 15v15, we are 13 th11 and 2 max defence 10, enemy has 10 th11, 4 max defence th10 and a max defence 9.

This is our 4th straight mismatch where we not only have considerable offence and defence advantage, but have got that against an enemy with poor th9s in their lineup!

First, does anybody see an issue with this match? Does it look like a good match? My clan was on a win streak of 3 and the opposing clan had a win streak of 0. This opposing clan, as you can tell from the numbers, clearly won in both offense and defense! Seems like there are a few screws loose in the MMA currently! We still made it a close war. Just a little bit too much of an uphill struggle. Needless to say we did not get the middle fully cleaned. Too many th10 defenses for the 9's to get it done. 95% of their attacks were....lalalalalalalalalalalalalal LAVALOON!...spam

Also wanted to add, had a bunch of th9s 95%+ their th9.5s (a few heartbreaking 99%). Unfortunately, those extra traps and point defenses, just held out enough that the th9s couldn't pull out the 3 stars.

Although everyone gave it their best, it is disheartening to know we just got bullied around.

It can be equally disheartening to be cast in the role of accidental bully, when you see decent strong clans with good records across from you just give up, and you know they never should have matched you as an appropriate sized enemy for them.

I have to be honest, I don't think producing such a small sample size of war breakdowns helps one little bit. Simple reason, the mm allows for a very wide variance of matching. I set up a brand new clan and put in 2 th11, 6 th10 and 2 th9. I have now run 3 war matches and got a VERY wide variety of opponents.

the first I was outmatched. They had 4 th11 with maxed troops, one with an eagle and lvl3 infernos. I had no eagle and only lvl1 infernos.

second war, same line up for me, I had the advantage. They had no th11 and only 1 th10 with infernos albeit lvl3.

third war, it's very close, same number of th11. I put in another th11 and dropped a th10 and both clans have an eagle at the top. He has lvl4 infernos, mine are lvl3. But 2 of his th11 are engineered, mine have decent defences.

the point I am making, three war matches, three very different results. Don't compare my clan against theirs, compare THEIR clans against each other. There is no comparison!

I cannot not even start to understand what is going on.

Darian, sorry but it’s too much to fill out your template for 30x30 wars but I’m happy that you’re interested in taking feedback. In a war now where our top 5 are all th10s vs our opponents top 5 with 3 th11s that have max troops and heroes and the top 11 is maxed defense.
I don’t think you need any additional data than that. Our top 6 get 3 starred and against th11 troops and heroes and we have no chance against that. Our clan tag is #LYV0V080. I think your developers can go pull all of the other supplemental info they want.
