Camping Derby!

i just want to say that this is the worst derby, in my opinion, that i have ever participated in.

i hate production tasks. i do not stack, i do not want to stack. i do not like tasks that take a day. that includes fishing. i hate fishing, too, for the same reason, it takes too long. i take derby seriously. i shoot for a perfect score (10x320). i put my game on hold. town visitors, truck orders, etc. are all on hold waiting for tasks.

not only have the higher point tasks been rare, but in this derby, there is NO 'normal' task (like help, train, crop, anything other than production) with bonus points. beyond that, i've seen one 'normal' 320 point task. i've already decided i'm not waiting for the 400 pt production tasks, because it is too frustrating, but i can't even find 320 point tasks. it's thursday. i've done one help task. i'm normally done by now.

SC, whatever you did, this one is just a big fail.

I love production tasks and stack most of my machines every week in hopes of getting one or two. I HATE fishing, tho. Hate. Regardless of my feelings about fishing is the thing that is taking so long in this derby is finding tasks! Arg. Not only are 400s hard to find, but even 390+ is almost impossible. I don't mind a challenge, but this is ridiculous.

My hood mate and I decided that we're not playing next week. Maybe not the week after, either. We both have our derby achievements so we don't care if we stay in the Champion League. I hope the next update is something special, because this derby has burned me right out.

the themed derbies have had crops or train etc. tasks mixed in with the 'theme' for those that do not like production tasks. this one is FUBAR with task propagation. THANKS, SC...

We’ve had nothing all day, got one 390 pt fishing task just sitting there. Were so sick of fishing tasks. Worse derby ever, we’ve only seen a few of the ones that you told us to be prepared for.

I'm reading your post and can't help but chuckle. Your playing style and likes are polar opposite of mine. I detest boats, trucks, and help tasks. I love the strategy of production and stacking. I don't see the Camping Derby as a big fail, just one with some fixes to be done. I look forward to these derbies and find the normal ones kinda boring.

This is what makes HD such an amazingly designed and constructed game. Any number of styles of play are available. Even the derby has a number of options to fit different likes and dislikes. We, as players, just have to learn to share and take turns.

i don't see 'the strategy of production and stacking'. thd releases a sneak peak of what will be in themed derby. you make only what they announce. you fill your barn so you can make more of the same exact item on whatever machine makes it, and tie up your machine for the length of the derby until you get a task that actually requires them. if you're aiming for high points, that could take days. meanwhile, the barn is full and you can't do many other things central to the game. i consider that FRUSTRATING, not fun, or strategic.

on the second bolded comment, no, in this derby, there are not a number of options to suit different playing styles. they are ALL long production or fishing tasks. that is the problem.

I loved themed derby though this camping derby is quite taxing. I hope SC will bring on more themed derbies. It is definitely more interesting than always playing the regular derby.

BTW, 15 tasks of 400 out of 1324 trashed. Way to go.

I must got lucky. Done my 10 tasks for a score of 3923

3 fishing 400,396,390
Honey toast 400,386
Apple Juice 400,373
Hot Chocolate 400
Bacon & Egg 400
Toffee 378

Did it 2 and half days. Was broke for first 6 hours until we got first 400 in hood

I did stack 3 machines at announcement. A day in decided to stack all apart from potato bread.

The trick here is all to be stacked deep to complete a task straight away. That gives the hood 4 spots to get another production task.

Just so far had a good 15+ 400

I rarely stack, but with combos taking out, it is only way to do this Derby.

I did in game mail them, they informed that the combo this Derby will not get the 25% bonus.

Yes we are first by around 1500. In a 8 person
derby.

At moment got a 390 fishing and 400 potato bread waiting to be taken
