I was thinking tonight...what if instead of a third camp of Night Witches, we used the fifth camp in Mitch for Boxer Giants? Let them tank and hold the BM back for cleanup like we do in Minion Drops. Call it, “GiMitch”.
I’m really liking going in with a kill squad to take out most of the big-bads, THEN sending in the BM to deal with leftovers.

Absolutely. As a matter of fact I've been using more Giants lately in my giwitch attacks. Sometimes I'll send 2 camps of giants with 1 camp of witches one direction and bm and the remaining witches the opposite direction with a giant or two. The idea being to distract multi mortar and giant cannon with the Giants with witches behind them specifically to take out gaurd post troops and then have bm and remaining witches coming from behind giant cannon.
You could apply that same thinking to Mitch and possibly even whip with that 5th camp of Giants.
Also had to say HUGE congratulations on the game specialist tag. You absolutely deserve that in my opinion because I've gotten more feedback and quality information from you than most other forumers combined. Well done and thanks 👍

I pulled your quote from a newer thread that I was going to reply to, then I thought hey just find this thread and not hijack.
Noc, I have got to say I am not having as much luck with it as you seem to have so far. I mean it is successful but it is not outperforming my Mitch attacks. I watched all of your when air attack videos on minion drops, and your part 2 video exclusively on it, I am still having trouble. I was using lvl 11 drop ships (level 12 finished today and I put them to 13) with level 14 minions, exactly like you were in the vids, opposite the airbombs and deploying in a 3-4 ship spread out fashion, supplementing with the last two where needed.
I'm finding it lacking thus far, my minion line is just barely making it to the builder hall as the last of the ships go down-- occasionally getting the BH down but mainly getting stuck at like half BH hp or more with 50-60% base destruction. I'm forced the use the BM to finish off the BH if I'm lucky enough that the base layout had the giant cannon in a reachable spot opposite the airbombs on my pathway to the BH, otherwise I'm occasionally out of luck with a 1 star fail.
With level 11 ships just 10% hp less than max and 4.5 sec larry cooldown instead of 3.9, this surely couldn't make up all this difference, could it? Your vids were smashing opponents BH down and 70-80% total destruction before BM was even thrown down. Now to be fair, several attacks did go just like that, but only a few out of like 30. I am competing around 4500, do you have any thoughts??
Other than chewing the right flavor bubble gum, attacking while standing on your head, and holding on to your lucky quarter....
The wins do drop off a bit against max air defenses; are you maybe seeing more maxed games since season reset? My L14 Minion Drops are running around 4500 cups and still doing 5% or better wins. The other two games are rousing up the near 3500 mark, I think. All are doing well unless I miss the timing on the replacement Drop Ships. There are times that my BM has to do a lot of clean up, but it’s uncommon for me to have the BH still standing; more like there are several non-combatant buildings, maybe an AT and the AirBombs left. (In other words - easy stuff.). And I usually don’t drop the BM u til the attack is over; every once in awhile, he isn’t even needed.
When your Beta Minions go down, where are the Drop Ships?
I just went through my last 10 in the Battle Log on my primary - percentages are down a bit since season reset, presumably due to tougher opponents, but I’m still winning.
72%, 2-star
100%, 3-star
61%, 2-star
74%, 2-star
61%, 1-star (loss)
100%, 3-star (BM not deployed)
79%, 2-star
79%, 2-star
61%, 2-star
100%, 3-star (BM not deployed)
Ugh...I remember a couple of those and my deployments were ugly. On that 1-Star loss, I accidentally dropped every Drop Ship at once, thinking I had switched to Beta Minions.
Looking at the games with lower levels of Drop Ships, they are seeing lower percentages but still mostly wins. One is at 3445 cups running L12 Beta Minions and L10 Drop Ships; he gets mid 60s mostly. The other is at 3584 cups running L13 Beta Minions and L9 Drop Ships. That one is actually outperforming the other with several 3-Star wins, an 85%, 90%, 65% 2-stars.
So...maybe just tougher opponents since season reset...?

I've tried various timings like in your vids, like putting all the minions in a line to get the first few hits and then having the drop ships cruise by right before the minion line progresses. Also tried sending the ships off in front and then having the line go down to make absolutely sure no minions get picked off.
I feel that I am deploying them correctly, it just seems to be lacking power. The squad as a whole, drop ships with minion line in tow just barely makes it to the builder hall before the drop ships go down and the minion line MAYBE gets the BH down (if they aren't too stuck on interior crushers) or at least get a portion of the way through the BH before they are taken out. The combo as a whole just seems far less effective for me than the attacks in your videos. It looks like they are making 2/3rds of the progress that your units do, like they didn't eat their Wheaties, takes them forever to take down things.
Yes, I am facing many maxed bases but not all. Maybe I just need more practice, I'll try with my new L12 ships tonight![]()

I have been using minion drops for a couple weeks now. Just got drop ships to lvl 13 yesterday, wow what a difference! I find that 2 camps drop ships and 3 camps minions work good for me. I drop all 4 drop ships, sometimes 3 depending on if it’s a narrow base or if they look like they will clump. I hold off 5 minions to save for last. I use them for bh or cleanup with BM, just depends on how troops cleared the base. I haven’t tried 3 camps of drop ships yet. Since they are at level 13 now I might try it, but what I’m doing is working pretty good and I’m a bit hesitant to change. Maintaining 4200 with a crusher down for the last 10 days.
