Kicking GC and keeping my friends. Any ideas? 🤔

Hi there! I hope this is the right place to address my problem.

It's time for me to unfriend every GameCenter friend I have. It's sad but as some have become rude or quit playing HayDay, I don't see another way to get rid of them. BUT I have many nice farming friends I really like to keep, too. So I'm searching for a way to befriend them in-game after I kicked everyone from GC.

My farm is not connected with FB, so I can't like their farm (and can track them later - if this is even possible). Unfortunately, some of them aren't from here (so I can't contact them with a PM). As we all are in different time zones, it doesn't make any sense to ask for help, so I'll have at least some of them in my Last Helpers Tab. This means when I kick everyone from GC, there won't be any chance to contact them afterwards, right? Or has anyone an idea how to keep or contact certain friends?

Put your farm tag as part of your ”name” that way when the good friends realize you are not on their list of friends anymore they can add you. Or ask them via your farm name to use the same to give you their farm tag #.

Something like - No GC my tag#11111111

or pls give tag# so I may add

I know it sounds silly but it might work for some.

I have wanted to do the same and was going to follow some of their farms, but apparently if they are on your friends list, you cannot “follow” their farm.

If if you have an older device not running iOS10, you can log into gamecenter on the older device and manage gamecenter friends. Even an older desktop computer will do.


if you don't have one, maybe a family member or friend has an old iPhone/device laying around?

Indeed, I have an older device not running iOS10 somewhere I'll try that first. If I can't manage to do it, I'll try Momscars idea

bender, would it be possible for you to temporarily join the NHs of some of your GC friends and explain the situation?

If you regularly play the derby, that might mean you only have Monday (derby break day) to make NH rounds, so it might take some effort and time.

And also, if their NH chat isn't active, any member of that NH would be able to visit your farm for as long as your departure is shown in the chat. Since you're considering dropping annoying GC friends, I'm thinking that's a concern.

But maybe some of your GC friends are in solo NHs where the risk would be low.

I accidentally deleted all my GC friends recently. I didn't want to do it, but it's surprisingly easy to do under device Settings, when you're not paying the most careful attention, and just trying to see whether you can still pull up a list of GC friends.

Putting your farm tag # in your farm name is helpful. I did it for a while when the farm tags were first introduced and some of my GC friends sent me in-game requests.

I, too, would like to move in the direction you are going, but there is no easy way to contact a friend's farm to send an in-game request. It is frustrating to me that I can get requests from people who have shopped at my farm through my ad in the DD, but the little "send request" button doesn't exist on my GC friends. I'm very glad that we got the in-game friends feature, but there is some tweaking I'd like to see. I can't decide exactly what it could be that wouldn't open a can of worms in terms of unwanted contacts.

A small update:
I followed Wussypuss' idea and unfriended some of my GC friends on an old iPhone. Unfortunately, it didn't work - they are still shown in my friends list in-game. Maybe GC needs some time to realise what I've done before they pass the news to the game (hope you understand what I mean), but it was yesterday evening and now it's morning and they are still there. Could it be possible that the sync between HayDay and GC isn't working anymore, since it's already been a while that GC was shut down?

Letthemusicplay: Changing the nh for one day is rather impossible for me as I'm the new leader of my nh and I don't want to confuse my team. Plus: Some friends' nh are invite only.

Mini: It looks like I will have to try yours and Momscars idea. But it will need some time, as my friends have to see my farm name with the tag (not everyone is playing or visiting me daily). It's really an annoying situation right now that we simply just can't follow or invite already existing friends. That would make it sooo much easier.

I have been thinking about this too but so far have not been able to face the upheaval that I think it will be 😱

This method has worked out for me. I cannot verify it anymore though, as I am now down to 10 gc friends I don't want to lose
