Heals are used in a variety of attacks at all TH levels. Lightning is used quite often in TH7-9. Clone is used by TH11's, and seemingly extremely rarely as I have never had it used against me.
Again, I'm not saying it isn't a good spell, just that it has got to be the least used. Kind of a difficult argument without proof on either side.
I've been thinking about this thread too much today...lot of stuff swirling around in my head that I can't seem to properly put to post.
Agreed its a difficult argument in that we don't have the data. So table that. Actually, lets say it is the least used spell. For starters, some spell has to have that distinction. It doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad spell- or worse yet, is in need of a buff.
Think valks here. For the longest time, they held that least used moniker. Most players felt they were worthless when compared to camp space. Plenty of other troop comps could get the job done better- but don't tell that to the players that were using them. To those players, valks were strong, and they rolled with them. Valks eventually got a buff, and became really strong. So much that everyone scrambled to upgrade their level 1 valks. So much so...that SC in turn had to buff defenses. Hard. We got the cannon buff. The wiz tower buff. Started a run on defensive buffs to this very day.
I was in the camp that believed the valks were already a strong troop- but you had to really practice with them to maximize their effectiveness. I feel the clone could be in that same category. It's already strong- but again, players on average probably don't want to take the time to really figure it out. It's four spaces and not the easiest to use properly. So it sits unused more than it should. This doesn't mean it's in need of a buff. When used properly, its a thing of beauty. And it has many different ways to shine. If SC throw a buff to it simply to spurn usage...then you could very well see a nasty defensive buff cycle to counter it. Rendering a few other troop comps shot in it's wake.

That being said SC brought valks back into existence. It was a good call now valks have a place very rarely can spamming valks get the Triple. So it was the right call IMO. After the defense buffs. However show me a ring base and I'll show them 6-10 valks showing up late the the party.
Same is needed for clone make it a option for most attackers. Not just the select few that can make it a thing of beauty.
I'd say based on the findings of personal experience, and talking to a lot of other players about their personal experiences.
League play clans make up an extremely small percentage of the player base...I haven't seen anyone use clone in a war with any clan I've been in as far back as I can remember.
Funk's claim that clone is not used as frequently as other spells, with respect to the entire player base, is valid (save maybe the skeleton spell).
Agreed cnaf. I think the main reason it is (presumably) the least used spell is because of all the bad press it got when it was introduced. Like myself, I'm sure most others have put it towards the back of the list of priorities to upgrade, hence why it is rarely used.
Alpal, I considered skeleton spell, but have seen it used effectively several times.
