should SC remove the report button?

That is a false analogy.

Imagine if there was a reporting system in place, in which you could ban people from driving for a day. Now imagine if by driving past some traffic lights in your Ferrari, everyone with Hyundai's would press a magic button and ban you for driving for a whole day.

That is what global is like. A bunch of jealous children reporting their betters to feel powerful. It must stop.

I was in global chat yesterday. And somebody was just shooting insults to everybody for no reason. Just expressing his freedom of speach and shouting insults left and right for no reason. I thought he would get banned in 30 secs with the report button being what it is.

Well it continued for 10 minutes.

I could have muted him and continue without understanding why people keep saying "calm down".

But why would somebody like that be allowed to "spam" a chat system?

For me the report system is to avoid spaming the board and tell the user that is behavior is not welcomed. If enough people report the same person, well something isn't right.

I've been there with my C1 badge and nobody banned me. I see plenty of masters chating freely.

And by the way, here if you see a ferrari doing a dangerous move and report it, the police will investigate the incident and they don't ask if you drive a hyundai

its really simple, if you don't like how someone is spamming global with curses and inappropriate comments, any individual including yourself can easily mute that person. its true that report is supposedly implemented to give off the warning that bad behaviors are prohibited, none the less, too many immature players are taking advantage of this report system for bad, and not for good. the mute button can very easily be used as a report button, except not in the ban portion. a ban does seem like a reasonable punishment, but as several threads show, too many innocent people are being reported carelessly. its like living in a system where you can report anyone non-stop and the police are merely robots that are programmed to pursue anyone who was reported, without any viable reason. imagine getting your door knocked down and two robots lock you up because several people reported you. you'll think to yourself, "this isn't right! there should be a better way to justify actions!". of course, SC isn't like some sort of police station where you can file up a bunch of complaints and some secretary has to read them all, but the easy way to handle this report situation is to provide an alternative. SC introduced the mute button believing that this would some-what fix the global system. well, it hasn't because the report button is still at large. people still report each other non stop and there is no limit or no way of monitoring every single damn comment on global chat room world wide. the solution is pretty clear to me, remove the report button and use the mute button as its supposed to be intended and just silence the people you don't like! in global, it should be "keep your friends close, and keep your enemies silenced". think about this for a minute, if some rude person started screaming out disrespectful comments to everyone around him, the people around him would do something about it, whether its ignore the person and walk away or call up the police. you wouldn't turn around and punch the guy behind you who was innocently eating a donut. report has no reason to be used anymore, the mute button is pretty much that, "this guy is an idiot, ill just mute him and anyone else sensible enough will mute him too" button.

Since mute was added to chat, report is now pointless. Report only gets abused by 6-12 yrs olds.
dont like someone? Mute is the easiest and most effective way to go.

they should have removed report as soon as they added mute. I dont know why supercell is not thinking things through.

add clan wars now pls, farming just to upgrade stuff is starting to get boring without a change in gameplay to keep it interesting.

I have been banned from chat 3 times this week alone. Every time i have been banned i was either just recruiting, or talking to someone who i know and just happened to be in the same chat room with. This would be the best update ever if they would remove the Report button!
