    We are on our third war since the update. All three were surprisingly well matched.
    This time we have 2 th10 and one 9.5 at our top and they have 3 th10, but one of them is recent upgraded (basically th9 offense power and lvl 1 infernos...)
    Both clans have 4 th9 and both have a lopsided th10 with lvl 4 dragons at the bottom. Both clans also have some th6 at bottom.
    I noticed that in the 2 last wars we were using that lopsided th10 and both opponents had one similar base at their bottom too. The first war after the update we didn't take our lopsided th10 and there was no lopsided base in our adversary clan. I wonder how well this MM will show itself, but for what we saw until now... so far so good.

    We are having a terrible war right now in völvö. 25-25 war, we have 1 th11 7 th10 and rest are th9. And the opponent has 10 th11 in their top 12 and all have either maxed out bowlers or lavaloons or both. Fair play?

    Our first war after MM update was nearly exactly even... the next 3 matchups have been totally screwed. We have had mid level town hall 10s matched vs maxed or nearly maxed th11s with level 5 infernos and eagles... What is going on. 3 matches in a row almost identical and totally absurd. Our troops are similar across the board (theirs have been a little better in the last 3, but it's close enough to manage), but their defenses have been so superior up top in top
    5 bases that's it's pointless to even try.... we are all about to tell COC adios!!!! Ruined the game with whatever they did.

    We do 15 or 20 base wars... we have 2 th11s (one maxed and other with no eagle and not maxed infernos even yet). We have 3 th 10s, one maxed and one new with only 1 level 1 inferno and the last brand new th10 with no inferno and just 3rd xbow. The rest is th9 and th 3-4 th8..... we have been matched now 3 times in a row with 3 maxed th11s, another strong th11 and 2 maxed th10s.
    Why is mid and low level th10s pulling maxed or near maxed th11s now.... their troops are stronger as well!
    The big issue seams to be that the system is matching strong th11s with low th10s. Totally ruining it for us, our number 2 and 3 and 5 have all said they quit now that this has happened 3 wars in a row.
    The old system wasn't perfect and every once in a while we would lose to engineered base clans, but we are all veterans and good and we win 8 or 9 out of 10.... but the old system is way better than whatever the hell they did now. 3 matches in a row are ridiculous.... where is the surrender button so we don't have to waste 48 hours on these ridiculous match ups now????

    Disclosure: I have an engineered account only because i have to cover for the rushers who cannot 3 star opponents 3 places below.
    This is by far the best suggestion given here. I completely believe we should have TH tax as this will stop eng bases. However what you said also makes sense and will somewhat have better matchups.

    we are drawing more TH11 in war than ever before. As mentioned earlier we dont have many players participating so our war roaster is only TH9 and TH10 but most are rushers or mid levels but its ridiculous drawing 4 TH11 will almost maxed offense and decent defense. As i said before too their 10 will 3 * me on 2nd position in 10x10 war.

    I believe this will happen with my clan as most had already left due to grinding and this war issue will make leave more. I am also upto a point that i am going to give up on wars and maybe continue with grinding on the TH10 farming. Wars are not fun anymore. PERIOD.

    Okay, engineers, you win. I'm giving up. I'm going to take our clan engineered. Maybe Supercell will someday stop trying to beat it with the algorithm but they show no signs of it yet and it is NEVER going to work.

    Supercell will never fix this problem. It's all about the money. Yet they ignore the rest of us who dump loads of money into this game and just want wars to look like it did a year or so ago... normal. Even. Fun, especially when it's a good close fight!

    None of these low weight bases that are now in every war. None of these rushed th11s with max troops that mirror our th7s, th8s and th9s but 3 star our th10s.

    I miss the old Clash of Clans. The current one is a cesspool.

    What is, according to Supercell, a " lopsided " base? Is that a th11 with just the canon lvl 1 as defense and max offense or is a th11 with all defenses (including new defenses at 11) but without the eagle also considered as lopsided and as such considered in matchmaking? I can't find in all posts here the answer. And can anyone explain if xx.5 is at the end in current gameplay? Thanks in advance

    After a few matches, the new MM seems worse. I'm considering taking making my mini account an engineered account. It's at 9 but I may just go to 11 to get the warden and max laloon.

    I know there is a ton more that goes into match making other than town hall, but our opponents have had double the number of wardens and double the number of eagles since the MM update. Prior to the update we took a little bit of a hit because a lot of us have max TH10 heroes (with near max bases as well, we dont engineer) but its hard to win a match when you opponents 14 TH11 attacks and you only have 6.

    I was always ok with the opposing team having an extra TH11 with an extra eagle. That's no big deal, but the number of TH11 attacks our opponents have seems too high. Even if they have 30.30 heroes and we have 40/40 they have a lot more room for error.

    I suppose we will give it time, but initially I would say it seems worse.

    I had such a high expectations for this update. Finally sc seemed to be taking bigger step on matchmaking. Now in two different clans have had 5 matches from which 4/5 have been agaisnt engineered clans with several extra th11s each time...

    Getting a bit sad, all this time ive hoped that it might get better over time since they have said several times that they recoqnize the problem but now im starting to loose hope it ever will. They are so afraid of making some part of the players angry that it seems to prevent any major fixes on matchmaking and at least i feel that its slowly destroying the game. Or at least my willingness to play, and i hate it cause i really love this game.
