All our last wars have been against low/high engineered clans where there isnt single loopsided base in our clan.
My side:
1th11(me) 3th10s(all 9.5) 3th9s 1th9(8.5) 5-6 th8s 1th6.
Then I dropped eagle artillery and rest defences and also encouraged my clan mates to drop all defences. So then we found 1 fair war i.e, non-engg clan.
So, x.5 is unfair according to sc and that is why they categorized us in the loopsided ppl clans. And thus we were getting matched vs engg clans.
Or some other theories? Someone classify on this matter...

Not sure what they have changed. No clear data or details to show us. I just know war match is getting more ridiculous.

.5's are not the problem, .5 is just maxing offense over defense it is not the problem and is still a good option

It was a ploy to get uncommitted engineers to drop all defenses out of fear, you fell for it

I'm still th11 defenseless and nothing has really changed with our matchups

I've found the same thing... even 1 x.5 in your lineup gets you matched against engineers. Dropped the .5 from war and matches are reasonable.

You dont need to read all the replies to get a idea of if they are dead or not seems daft to create another post on the same subject

On the contrary, we have found that including any base that doesn't have all the defenses dropped for the TH level is an issue and will draw you an engineered clan of one form or another. The two searches we have excluded everyone without defenses down have resulted in considerably fairer matches

Well that's just rediculous... we sit out of war while heros upgrade. now we have to sit out when we upgrade our th to a new level. Need to make clans larger if that's the case. So you'll have enough people for war with everyone sitting out during upgrades.

I've tried to keep up with this thread, but it is just too large now, is there a definitive guide how to avoid becoming a x.5, and has SCC given any feedback to this thread or the changes they implemented last update.

We do have some x.5's and other types of engineered bases (created in response to the clans we faced), which are generally 2nd accounts, I'm loathe to make any kind of change until I know something has been done to correct the current problem. I have noticed a massive increase in the lopsidedness of match making now, we tend to get much tougher engineered clans that are TH11 heavy, so whilst the change may be having an effect on minor engineered clans like ours, it is still being very beneficial if not more so to serious engineered clans as they are coming up against much easier opponents. our wars used to be much fairer prior the update, we only ever got matched to similar engineered clans to ours, I don't remember the last time we were matched against a clan that never had some kind of engineering but now they are much more stronger than us. I guess I need to try and figure out who in my clan is engineered, who is a x.5 and try to fix it....

Before I do this though I'd like to know if it is worth it,

Simply put, when you upgrade to a new TH level, drop the new defenses. Otherwise, you're a .5.
