Bolts... more scarce than platinum ore...

Well, so far my new farm is showing the same tendencies as my old one. I've gotten 1 duct tape and 4 panels so far - items almost as common as bolts on my old farm. No nails or planks.

It's insane. The other day, I traded down to 0 in bolts, trusting that my farm would provide. And it did. Two days later, I was at 48 bolts. Only a couple of planks found in that time.

So...how do they determine which farms get what? Is it what server you connect to? If so, you'd expect all devices in the same house to have the same common items and rare ones. If I move across the country, will I get different building materials?

And does it ever change? One day, will I wake up and find myself drowning in planks, with nary a bolt in sight?

It's totally random like everything else as far as I can tell. I do change now and again to get more of one item and less of another and others have experienced the same. There does not seem to be any pattern to that either...also random. Could be a few days or several months.

Some believe that the game gives you more of what you have the most of and tell you to even out your stock so you'll even out what you get. I can't vouch for that as it's not been my personal experience, but you can try it and see if it works for you.

Interesting. That would be fun. I'm kind of tired of bolts, panels, and duct tape. I've only been playing a few weeks- since the Android version came out - and it's always been the same for me.

I think that's true. I reached the mid 30s levels keeping every expansion item I found, and buying any I could. In that time, my barn and silo expanded evenly. One was never more than 25 ahead of the other.

Then I started selling off extras for the silo, while still keeping everything for the barn. As a test. Now my silo is much bigger than my barn. Even though I started selling off the barn items too, and trading, which helped even them out again, my silo is still 100 slots bigger than my barn.

I have sold all tapes and planks to test the statement that you get most of the stuff you have, but no, this does not work on my farm.

So to get more of one shall i infact sell off all excess of others? Cuz om drowning in panels and scarse in everything else?? Plz advise!

Trade them in the trade thread. There are people who need panels.
