Top players clan jumping to get gem bonus

I searched for a thread like this but came up empty which surprises me. Sorry if I missed them. I want to point out something that supercell needs to do something about.

They need to change the way they give out gems at the end of the season. All the top players just join into a few clans at the end of the season so they are assured the gem bonus. This does not promote clan loyalty.

I think the gems should be given to the top players of the clans that stay on top for the most time reguardless of where they are at the end of the season.

Is there a better way to do it? Discuss.

Do they do this for the gems or just because they can? Many people respond to this that the gem reward a pittance compared to what they regularly buy.

Maybe they do it so others can't get the gems?

Maybe they only get the bonus if they stay in the same clan the whole season? Maybe they can choose a clan in the first 24 hours, and then unless they stay in whatever clan they are in at the end of the 24 hours, they will not get a gem reward.

If so... then isn't that kind of rude... It seems they are playing Russian Roulette with your mind.

I mean, it's pretty obvious that the people that win spend far more than they win (so it means nothing) and the people that spend very little or none have no chance of winning.

When you start, haven't you dreamt being at the top and getting a whole bunch of gems every other week? Some people start playing to aim for that top position and the prize. If that's gone, people will have no motivation.

Also, that is one of the reasons that people trophy hunt. If it disappears, I will guarantee you that several people will stop trophy hunting.

Are you being serious here?

If they are seriously trophy hunting then they are spending thousands and thousands of gems to maintain their trophy level (building troops, gemming heroes / spells etc). Are these people likely to stop just because a few gems are not on offer? No chance.

Ok, for a newbie just starting out it could seem like something to aim for.

It is a pointless prize though.

I agree that many people trophy hunt with aspirations to get to the top. But many more would if they could find a more fair way to distribute the gems.

I suggested in another thread that the leader boards go away, or perhaps as far as rewards go. They should make leagues for clans and have smaller rewards spread out across the game. You can only join a league at the beginning of a season, stops sniper clans. Your clan stays in your league the whole season so you can actually win of course. Smaller rewards per league, more rewards the higher league you clan is in. This is in a way clan wars, as for the duration of the season you would have a rivalry with the other clans in your league. As CoC player base grows this would give more players a chance to compete rather than only the top 150. More chance for loyalty to a clan, if one competitive clan has a chance to win their season in their league already why move to another clan? More encouragement to win and get trophies over all, if winning means gems no matter where you are than plenty of people will find that attractive.
