Agreed.

But I still feel a need to reply to everything you said.
I don't think trying to please everyone is a good idea. Players already bored of the monotony will be angry that a quest wants them to donate X troops or raid X times, and I don't want to spend gems to get rid of it - this will just cause hate. However, encouraging players to try new things can't be bad - they could discover a new attack strategy or base that they really like, while otherwise playing the game normally!
Still 100% against the permanent statue idea. I believe this is because of the hours and hours grinding I have done in other games to get a reward, only to find it as hollow and unsatisfying as the grinding itself. This is what I picture grinding for the statue will be like. I don't want this to be a part of clash. If I feel this way, then people who gemmed for the statue will feel even worse - they might flood the forums or App Store with negative comments/reviews.
Although participation in the seasonal quests is optional, there are many ways in-game in which a player can be pressured into participation - clans requiring it, peer pressure, etc.
An easier way for SC to reward players who participated in the holiday events would be to give players who play more an increased spawn rate for seasonal obstacles.
This post may have seemed very negative, but I am still for the quests idea

, but against the seasonal reward.
Even though this was not part of your suggestion, and SC can choose to implement it differently, this concerns me. I don't want a quest system that spams "spend gems" at every opportunity, or one that has 5 buttons to spend gems on different things on each screen - I don't think other players want this either. The opportunities to spend gems should be fair in consideration to what you get, and you shouldn't be able to buy everything with gems. You cannot directly buy trophies; you cannot directly buy GG. I believe that the quest jewels should be treated like Power Stones in Boom Beach - they are impossible to buy directly and are therefore the most prized items in the game for high level players (I think sometimes more than diamonds, but I'm not "high level" so I wouldn't know).
