If you want my opinion, I'll tell you that I will do it if I am either:
A. Completely maxed at TH 9 (maybe except walls and heroes)
B. Extremely bored with the game and will quit if I don't get a boost in fun soon (which I'll get after upgrading)

U got lots of upgrades to do before moving up. so id suggest to wait and forget town hall atm.
Personally ill leave my 5 builders slack until i finish my lv 10 walls

max out your town hall 9 base, then go for it. warning: you may never find loot again once upgraded.

Took an extra mile and showed you a video how town hall 10 are farming. I make 200k gold a raid, 150k + 50k league bonus every 40 mins. I farm about 3-4m gold a day

When i was TH8 i chose to max it except for teslas walls and heros. I found it extremely boring.

I went to TH10 without being maxed. (Not realy bad either though :P)

I went to TH 10 like 3 weeks ago. When i did i had:
- Level 10 archer towers and level 10 cannons
- level 7 mortars
- level 7 wizard towers
- level 3 xbows
- level 6 air def
- level 5 teslas
- level 5 clan castle
- level 7 army camps
- level 10 barracks
- level 5 DE barracks
- level 6 DE drills
- level 6 DE storage
- level 11 mines and pumps (except for one level 10 pump)

Walls are a mix of 7 and 8
Heroes are level 7-8 ish

I don't find farming that hard compared to TH 9. In the past 3 weeks i did the following:
- 2 inferno towers directly to level 2 (last one finishing tomorrow)
- got my 3rd xbow currently upgrading to level 2 (7 days left)
- 1 mortar to level 8 (4 days left)
- 3rd DE drill to level 2
- 3 army camps to 8 (1 done 1 done tonight and 3rd one in 7 days)
- Tonight my first wizard tower goes to 8 and tomorrow my last army camp to 8.
- Lab to max
- Spell factory to max
- And some smaller stuff a few levels (new archer tower, new cannon, new mine, new pump)

For me it is worth it to be at TH 10 now. i just gives me more fun
Yes it is true it is a little bit harder to find loot. But I feel it's not to hard.

Th10 loot is not bad at all...yes, u wont be able to farm walls very well but i can still get a decent 500-700k an hr gold and elix along with 5k de per hr using barch in crystal one. I got th10 last saturday and so far ive done ten lvl 8 walls both infernos started two camps and my lab, as well as completely filling my de storage from about 80k going into th10 and this is playing about 2-3 hrs a day.

there is no point in staying and maxxing out lvl 10 walls and heroes, only waste of time.
If all your buildings are maxxed out and walls are at lvl 8/9 then your good to move on.

I went to TH10 as I got bored with unemployed builders at TH9. I've found that I make around half the loot per day now, compared to TH9.

It is NOT worth doing if you're farming, but good if you're a trophy hunter.

I will decide on TH10 Once the nxt update drops, by this I mean Monday oct 28th I will start the upgrade and see what is coming and go from there otherwise the game right now is dead for me at this point,
Maybe im procrastinating too much because ive been a premature th every since starting this game . Didn't know any better

If anyone has time please take a look at my camp !
