You kinda sux at phone games?
As someone who continually promotes the casual volume market (in all its guises) , I have to admit that this applies to me to some extent, and yet I won't accept TH8's or below in my clan anymore.
What I would say, is that many of my opinions are not solely based upon my own clashing experience, within my nearly 5 year old clan, but based upon the feedback from other players, and their experiences.
The game needs new players, and needs to allow the casual player to progress. Without this, the game will stagnate.
I doubt many would disagree with you. There is a library of historic references on the forum discussing exactly this. The grind at TH9 in particular is very tough (50 Hero levels!!), and is the most important TH level within the game, again for the reasons you rightly state.
My own clan has lots of working adults too, many with families. I doubt any member of my clan has ever hit their PBT.
That being said, most of them enjoy going to war every now and again, for themselves as individuals, and also as part of a team.
I remember when I was a TH7, and we used to war once a week on Saturday, I used to start getting excited by Thursday about the upcoming weekend war. Win or lose, it was a lot of fun.
I always think of those days, when I've had to ask my current TH8's/or low 9's to clean up the 4 TH3's, or the 3 Defenceless TH11's sitting at the bottom of our opponents roster......hmmmmm.
Regardless, you are right about the primary quitting reasons, but engineering could be just another nail in the coffin!![]()

No, what happened is that your clan hit a few engineers, some of your people started emulating them, and eventually it got harder and harder to out-engineer most of your opponents. It's a never-ending cycle. It's actually much easier for a guy like you to enjoy the game and win almost every war by NOT engineering because you are good enough at war to beat a true mirror almost every time. The easiest way to run into true mirrors is to just play the game rather than playing a spreadsheet. Look at Warios' clan, he posts on here every month or 2 with a ridiculously stupid matchup...but what he doesn't post is that they overcame fairly bad matchups regularly for a month during a 15-20 match win streak before hitting that crazy matchup b/c the mm was just determined to make them lose eventually. And people say that heavier clans with majority th10/11 are "better" or "more skilled", but in my experience Folkvangr hits about as many truly skilled opponents as we do truly engineered ones; ie, every now and then but very rarely.

The people who are neither maxed nor engineered, he was talking about us. And I don't have to work at sc to know what we want at I'm one of them. I have enough friends who are in this category to know this.
Are you trying to claim that the clans who are neither engineered nor maxed want to face people with th11 troops which th3 defs against their th8s? Or are you saying that I need to give to data points to prove this.
