I don't know of this clan your talking about, but regardless , if they have such a big win streak, I am sure they can adjust accordingly , you have to remember, if MM is putting other engineers against other engineers, there is a good chance they are better than your average engineered bases, making them continue their win streak you mention

Exactly, they would not have such an impressive war record (440 wins, 0 losses, 1 draw, 289 win streak) without meeting other engineered clans anyway and ok that may have been the single draw, but the chances are they would fair well against another engineered clan.

When they posted their full war log, it was very early on. And they said it wasn't against engineers rather a very very bad matchup. It didn't even have % tiebreaker so maybe they would have lost that, who knows

Obviously their 112th war. 111 win streak + tie + 289 win streak = 440 wins 1 tie 0 loss.

They are either facing really bad engineered clans or beating up on TH 8'S.
At the end of the day, who cares? They have sandbagged a fantastic war record. I imagine that they will continue to do so.

I am sure they can adjust, but if it is such a big change to the MM, wont know what to adjust, until they have a few wars under their belt
