They were rushed but they had strong air troops and their Heroes were decent enough to carry out 3 Star attacks on th11 and with the presence of so many Eagles our tens didn't stand much of a chance. They were one star short of a perfect War and we weren't even close.
Not been on the forum for a long time but thought I'd just add a quick comment on this thread. Our war matches were terrible before the changes as none of us are engineered but since the changes they've been far worse. We normally go to war with 2 TH11's but we're constantly facing 6 or 7 and that's in 20 v 20 wars, we've won a couple but most are impossible. The clan is so fed up we've cut our wars down and things have started to go quiet in the chat as people don't bother logging in, this really does need sorting out.
Maybe SC could kill 2 threads with 1 responses. They could change the title of this thread from improvements to random changes.
It would better describe matchmaking and be communication at the same time.
What I don't understand is why SC have never introduced a 'Tournament Standard' mode for War in Clash, similar to Royale.
That is, at each TH level both offence and defence is already set/capped at a competitive level for all players, to allow Wars to be purely a test of skill, experience and base design.
The MM would simply need to weigh the TH levels for even matchups.
I reckon it would be a popular addition to the game, as it's proved in Royale with both Tournaments and Challenges.

I strongly disagree. An uneven match up isn't much fun from either perspective. At least that's how I and my clan feel. Last war we won by 13 stars. It was about as boring as boring gets. The other clan made just over half of their attacks (31/50).
I'd rather lose a close war where it came down to skill, a little bit of luck, and base design/strategy, than absolutely blow out (or be blown out by) the other clan. I know lots of clans have that 'win at all cost' attitude, but that doesn't appeal to me at all. I play this game, and war, for the fun challenge and excitement. Not so I can say 'oh look, another clan we're going to blow out of the water YAWN'.

Our babies won this war even with a maxed th9 on top of the enemy.
Had they known how to attack, they could have smashed us. Their leader in the #2 position couldn't even 3 star on our low #6. Actually, our bottom guy wasn't even 3 starred.
