    The game is beyond saving. It's not going to change...I don't think it's fixable at this point honestly. Reading through the posts of other players only solidifies my opinion here. Engineering is NEVER going to go away. All of the players who have been in the game from the start are all pulling the knives out of their backs, because that's what playing this game feels like now. A clanmate sent a question about the matchmaker to the help desk in game regarding the matches we've been seeing. Our clan has ZERO engineered bases. ZERO .5 bases. In our current war we have two maxed th11's in the lineup. 1 maxed th10. The rest medium th10's, 9's and 8's. Our opponent has 6 th11...3 of them maxed. The other 3 are weaker but all have wardens. My maxed th11 defended at 48% on the fresh hit only to be re-attacked for 75% 2*. Now I get it, re-attacking is 100% normal...except for us. Because we NEVER have the benefit of multiple attempts and our opponents ALWAYS do. The response my clanmate got from the help desk was to make sure all of our members were upgrading BOTH our offense and defense equally. NEWFLASH!!!!!!!! WE DO!!!!!!! The sad fact is this: SC has made a killing off of engineers and doesn't not want to alienate that base of players. But here's the thing...if bases were required to have a minimum defense to go to the next th level (just like bh...they got it right there suggesting they learned from their mistakes) then those same players would ultimately have to buy more gems again. All I know is this: war is no longer fun...this game is no longer fun...farming is okay, but the spirit of competition is what made this a great game. Unfortunately, the spirit of competition no longer exists...it's been replaced with the spirit of manipulation...the spirit of trying to take advantage of someone or something. In that way, the game has become more like life I suppose, and if that's what SC was trying to achieve? Well, they have.

    The new war matches are definitely not better. Now we're getting matched against max th 1 level above our highest 2 players. I was already very discouraged with how difficult th10 is, now I'm ready to quit after 3 years playing daily.

    The game is total bull pucky now.

    Redo the war algorithm again this is not working.

    I'm done.

    Your clan sounds similar to the one i am in (we only have 1 max 11 but 10s thru 8s follow), and i do feel for you but for whatever reason we are seeing pretty good matches....we run 20v wars most often and i have to say i havent looked at any of the last 10 and said we cant win/lose....some have a bit of an advantage one way or the other but not strongly. I think what frustrates a lot of players is why we have such different experiences.

    It has always been this way for us. We have over 300 wars under our belts and we are NEVER the team who benefits from extra high level attacks. Matches are either lopsided in favor of the opponent or, they are pretty even. It would different if we ever were on the beficial side of the matches but we never are. That's just me being honest.

    I haven't had any issues. I don't carry infernos and get matched against people that do. They carry poor walls and bad troop/hero levels...the problem isn't engineers..it's poor attacks and rushing.

    In Our Current war 20vs20
    We have 9.5s in Top 3 and Opponent have 4 Th11 in 8,9,12,14 but all Th11 having Th9 offence and low defence..war matching as done something wonderful..Last 4 wars we are matching with almost same offence from Opponent..

    We have 2 TH10s in our war... they have 5.

    That's the top end.

    I mean... seriously.

    How hard is it to take TH level into account? O.o

    Please take th level into account..I would LOVE for our clan to get matched against a bunch of rushed war bases with zero upgraded walls and really bad heroes.

    This update, from our perspective, made a broke system beyond even remotely functional. I took my fresh TH11 out of wars because I got matched against multiple true max TH11s while our next spot was a TH10. The last few wars we have had up top roughly 6 TH9s in the top spot with no TH10s or 11s in war. Opponents have had multiple base with infernos in each matchup and our #1 and 2 have been hit with maxed out attacks, complete with warden, in every single on of those. What's great is even after the extreme top end advantage their TH9s always stretch to at least 9 positions compared to our 6 as well. I have never said this before but this update makes me want to stop playing. I'm not alone either.

    Very well said. I think I might have posted something like that if I was smarter and more patient.

    The first line of 'beyond saving' is the key to it all. If they were going to address the engineering issue, they had to do it a long time ago. Unfortunately they probably saw a spike in gem purchases a long time ago and let it get out of hand. Greed or smart business? Probably somewhere in between. Got some quick cash but will no doubt will negatively impact on long term gem purchases because there is no doubt in my mind that the engineering problem (yes, it is a problem) will significantly reduce the longevity of this game. I'm sure they've crunched the numbers and are prepared to lose some (maybe a lot) disgruntled players to keep the big spenders spending.
