I'll buy strawberries at full price from lower level farms needing coins but not from higher level farms. They should sell cheap and stop cluttering the ads.

    THIS.
It might be just me, but i fail to see where the fun lies in these spam-theme tasks. The spam is annoying and tedious. It hampers one very important feature in the game, the effectiveness of the dd.
It also triggered an weird event in our hood. Many main farms ended up in lockdown, and now those players are mainly on their baby-farms. Especially challenging for lower level players with relatively small nUmber of fields. They are eager to help the hood with some awesome 400-point tasks, ending up stuck on one the same task for days on end. Frustration galore.

If I find anyone selling Strawberries default or cheaper I'm buying them. Thanks to you all, those selling max...you'll just have to wait; but given they take 8 hours to grow you've got time to wait I guess.
Yeah. I usually trash strawberry tasks, too, but when they are 400 derby points, I thought I'd try it. I put a few crates of 10 for 1 coin, myself. Its funny seeing an overload of strawberries, tho. Its usually wheat. Interesting change. Not a nice change, but an interesting one.

I think a good workaround for this might be to have increased chances for strawberry orders on the truck board or from boats or townies.
If they can tweak the rates of certain derby tasks why can't they tweak the rates for certain kinds of orders?

If the strawberry(or corn) tasks are going to reward higher derby points of course people are going to take them! We just need a better outlet to use up some of the extras.

i came up with an idea earlier (in another thread) or a possible solution to the effect on the DD these bonus point crop tasks create.

in coordination with the bonus crop task (strawberries this derby, corn the last), they could tweak the visitors so that they will offer full market price for the bonus item, the same as they would be sold for max price in the RSS.

i think people hesitate to sell to the visitors because they do not pay full market price, and people would rather advertise in the DD for max price and wait it out than part with the crop and potential profit, especially in this case of the 8 hour strawberries.

that way, people would be incentivized to sell to the visitors. further, people could even buy the bonus crop from the paper and sell to the visitors as a way of taking them off the market - it would give us a certain amount of power over supply and demand in the DD, without losing coin doing so in the process.

they could do it with the other bonus items, but really the bonus crop is the biggest problem.

Why is this overload of strawberries at high/max price so surprising? It just shows a rough estimate of the percentage of idiots/dorks playing this game. The real number is likely higher. And there's nothing you can do about, since SC need those and some other poor souls to keep paying.
    Plain and easy as this.

This is rather rude, don't you think? The strawberry fiasco has and continues to be discussed ad nauseum. There is no need for anyone to put down people that are caught up in the game and playing as usual, and that is to sell everything at max price.

Oh, and welcome to the forums.

As of yesterday, the paper seems to be "normalizing". It's still heavy in strawberries, but there are other items to be found now. I am enjoying my Sunday morning shopping adventures!

    Phew!
