WRONG. You are describing the system in place for the main game. Builder Hall works better because of the system that keeps *most* players at a natural trophy level depending on skill or equipment. There is no real need to trophy drop because of loot so I really do not think a lot of people are trophy dropping on purpose.
I am sure some people are doing trophy drops in Builder Hall, by all means let them do it. Or they suck at attacking, which is also entirely possible. They'll win some matches eventually and move up again. I am not buying "massive amounts" are dropping trophies, I just do not see it. As a BH5 I rarely run into BH6 because I am not high enough in trophies. I bet you are just to high in trophies and you are seeing a lot of the BH6s which are at the lower end of the trophie levels.
I can see that if you are a *really* good attacker this system can be frustrating, because you'll gain trophies to hard and run into a wall many times. Then it does become a gem-to-win situation. But for *most* people this is not the case. Can us casuals please also get some fun?
If 1600 is reasonable for a BH4, then we can expect that at least 2000 is reasonable for a BH5(for the loot bonus). I am a bit new BH5 in 1800's and about 20-30% of the time, I face BH6 who have 2 crushers, roaster and night witch.
MM is BB is definitely horrible.
Just before we continue, you have to realize that Supercell are on their holidays. Don't be expecting any fixes to this system until maybe August. Due to the amount of complaint's Supercell have received about the BB, I think it's fair to say that they will fix the matchmaking system up a bit to match bh5's with 5's, 4's with 4's, etc. I also expect new trophy range's to be added although, knowing Supercell, these trophy ranges may only be split by 300, 400, or even 500.

Why do you expect that? That isn't how the trophy system works on the main base in the upper ranges. If you are in legends you don't get matched based on hall. Same for titan. I'm not sure about champs, it starts somewhere around there. The matching isn't broken so there is nothing to fix. Your proposal would result in people just sitting at Bh4, never moving up, so they can match noob Bh4s and stay at the top of the leaderboard. That is the opposite of what SC wants. SC wants players to be encouraged to upgrade their bases. The matchmaking is fine. The players that are worse than average at attacking are not going to like it as much as those who are better than average. Similarly, those who still haven't figured out they should rush to Bh6 are going to like it less than those who have figured that out. I'm ok with both of those scenarios.

even with Max bh and troop you still need a bunch of gem to get there....
what we need as a bh player is higher trophy cap where everyone free to face each other...
I'm sorry but I don't understand.
Unlike the main village, the difference in the offensive and defensive potential between BH levels is too great.
Matchmaking needs to be matched on BH level at the very least.
I wonder if you'll ever be able to post in a builders hall critique thread, without taking potshots at those that dislike the builders hall. If that's your MO, then hopefully that is all you've got to say.
Anyway: What's "low" about it if you dislike the builders hall? Some people don't take war seriously or don't war at all, is that a new low as well?
